I feel like a bit of a mug, I purchased AC:Odyssey for $29 about 6 months ago, thinking it was a great deal some 6 months after release and being more than half-price. Now it's $5!!!
I've only had an Xbox for about 12 months, I didn't realise that these Ubisoft games seem to discount so quickly; I can only assume they over-produce physical copies because Xbox digital store doesn't get anywhere near these prices.
Upside is that I learned my lesson in April and I've been watching FC: New Dawn prices hovering around $18 for a few months, thinking it was reasonable cheap but with a strong feeling that they could go lower, and presto.

I was just saying that I thought $29 was a bargain and now it's $5, really quite bizarre that any game released so recently should hit $5.

You sound like me. Impulse buy stuff when I think it's cheap, and then it just sits on my shelf a lot of the time. I still have odyssey in plastic wrap. I think I got it for ~$30 from amazon when it first had a big price drop.
My plan is to win tattslotto and then retire and attempt to get through my backlog of games. Even then I think I would struggle to get through it all.
@Shaun Prawn: No drama I'll play it soon enough. It's not an impulse buy if you actually legitimately have the time and capacity to play it at some point.
Plenty of times if you don't jump on what appears to be a sale, esp on consoles, you might not see that price again. It's speculative, like housing or shares, so you just have to pick a point where you think it's worthwhile jumping in.

I bought Assassins Creed from HN (Far Cry went out of stock after adding it to my cart) and Far Cry from Domayne. Maybe that triggered a security alert. I've emailed to ask that they honour it.
If not, I'll let them know how Bunnings handle things. That's the new precedent.

Same thing happened to me with the security alert because I had my VPN on when ordering. Talk to live chat if you can. I spoke to them and they passed the security check and I've received an order confirmation email.

Went in store to Joyce Mayne Toowoomba and got the last FCND. Was meant it be on sale for $60 or something but scanned at $5. There were a few copies of Hyrule Warriors on Switch for $16.01 which appears to be the new normal price going off the price tags. They've taken it off the website but check in store.
Bought Far Cry 5 in a sale a few months back. It is garbage, and I say that as somebody who loved FC2, 3 and 4. Ubisoft need to stop. That series has run its course.

I dont expect much from an FC game, but I liked 5. It's the same shit as previous games with a new skin, but always get a few hours out of it. For the $9.95 I paid here, happy if I can sit on it for 10 hours.
I'm not a big gamer but I was obsessed with FC5. The music especially worked for me (I even bought the soundtrack on vinyl!).
I liked 5, was not a fan of 4, skipped Primal and have replayed 3 twice.
Stories are great in the series. Gameplay is stale, but you know what you're going to get so after a few games that's really on you expecting different.
For me the problem wasn't so much a case of the gameplay being the same old same old as the fact that it just seemed way more glitchy and broken than previous games. AI was laughably bad, characters glitching through walls / trees / the ground or sometimes just standing there spinning in one spot. Combine that with guns that just weren't all that much fun to shoot, and I just couldn't do it. Played it for maybe 3 nights then gave up - I've just got too many other things in my backlog to play that are more enjoyable than that.
It's a shame because, like I said, I really liked the previous few games. Although FC2 was something genuinely different and groundbreaking at the time, and FC3 was a step forward, too. The problem is that FC3 basically became the template from then on, and they didn't progress much since. FC4 was basically just a reskin of FC3. After a break of a few years, I probably would have settled for that from FC5 but, for the reasons I described above, it actually felt like a backwards step. Although I suppose it's possible that the gap in years just meant I remembered FC3 and 4 as being less glitchy than they actually were :P

Your post prompted me to check my email properly and I realised I missed seeing one on Saturday - out of stock notification for Assassins Creed… received a partial refund (half of order).
So 'seems like' Far Cry will ship and only cost me $7.48 delivered (half of the shipping cost of the original order).
Pretty much expect to get another cancellation email, but still in the game for now!!

Not sure if anyone is checking in on this still but i got my order in but have not got it yet, called customer service and apparently this got Ozbargained hard and they have a backlog of orders with no word from head office on what they are doing for customers. Kept my order there as it's still cheap on the off chance they honour the order.
Harvey seriously needs to update their stock management system, seems like every good deal on their site ends up with them holding my money for two weeks before handing it right back.
I called also as nothing should take this long these days. Was told Couriers Please is having delays. I said to the chat operator, shoppers hate Couriers Please and recommend they don't use them going forward. She agreed there had been some issues lately.
