Use it in cooking. It's great for souffles :)

It is a 'best before' date, not a 'use by' date.
Chocolate can discolour and still taste fine.

      Nice delivery deal!

  • Expiry and use by are different..

Expiry means usually do not eat.. there is always a safety factor.. usually 2 weeks DEPENDING on what item..
Milk for example never lasts longer then 1-2 days past expiry..

Use by means it tastes optimal before that date.. depending on the item.. it could last another month or two etc..
maybe even longer.. some dried foods last up to a year after use by date..

Expiry is more extreme pretty much… don't anything after expiry..

*i have dealt with food storage for years.. have tried food use by date.. over 1 year old.. still edible.(dried food)
Would never dare to do that with anything else.. like biscuits etc.. usually they last another 3-6 months.. before the biscuit becomes stale a disgusting..

Expiry foods i dare not touch because they get mouldy or stale after a week.. so i rarely will eat it..

Sorry to be a correcting jerk… but I think you mean to say that Use By and Best Before are different. In Australia those are the two main codes. Use by is safety and I would NEVER recommend consuming foods after their use by date. Best before is generally a question of flavour, mouth feel and presentation. Hope that makes sense!

I had a sealed bag of lentils that had a BB date of 2009.

air tight, no mould - I cooked them, they were fine.

      In regards to the chocolate.

15 blocks, 40 days until best before date.

1 block every 2.66 days. that's easily doable

+1 from me but pity no dark varieties.

    • I know! I complained to the BUYer involved. Sitting here eating some Green's Organic Dark Chocolate with Mint SO GOOD. Have a great weekend!

Am I the only one who doesn't like the taste of lindt chocolate? They generally taste way too fatty and sweet, I'd prefer cadburys any day.

    • I think you are the only one. Lindt is much higher quality chocolate, it is smooth and more enjoyable. Cadbury is cheap and nasty. Cadbury is much sweeter anyhow.

  • They were selling these in the bargain store for $1 each

    • Which bargain store and where? Photo please. Are you sure they were not the 100g blocks, these are 150g…would still be very cheap.

  • one of those bargain stores in bogan Liverpool

  • Just a note to OP, you can unexpire this if you like if you change the link to directly go to the page ie (http://www.harveynormanbigbuys.com.au/BuyDetailsPage.aspx?it…)

There's only about 40 packs left but yes there's a little more stock
