The reason this is good FYI, is it can give you an indication that your battery is on the way out, and/or your alternator. Also if your car battery drops under 12 Volts when you have things plugged in and charging while the engine is off, it will help you to prevent draining your battery below a good level of voltage for starting your car etc.

Not all cars will give you a low battery warning on your HUD/dash display.

    Does this product support excavators?

  • If you leave this plugged in, will it drain your battery?

    • +1

Nah you'll be fine. I've kept car chargers in both my sockets in 24/7 for years without issue over multiple cars.

    • +3

If you leave this plugged in, will it drain your battery?

When you turn your engine off, most sockets don't have power.

      • Ta jv. I guess it's pretty easy to test this.

I thought you could plug your accident cam into the socket and it would still work. Now I'm thinking it uses an inbuilt battery, until you next start the car.

Now I'm thinking it uses an inbuilt battery

          or capacitor

Most cars keep the 12v sockets powered for 30-60 minutes. I haven't seen many cars that turn them off as soon as you turn the ignition off.

        • +1

Every car I have been in turns the socket of as soon as the ignition is turned off

          • @spaceflight: Not for many cars I've been in.

First click of ignition switch will re-engage the 30-60 minute timer for the 12v sockets too.

    • +2

Depends on the car. Most older cars have the sockets linked to the ACC line on the ignition, so only when ACC is on.

Most newer cars have it on timer with ACC, and turn off after a set period of time.

Then you have some basketcase cars like the Ford Focus and Ranger which have it permanently on.

First two options wont drain anything, third will. Benefit here is that you will be able to see the status of your socket via the volt-meter.

      • Thanks. Can't understand why people here downvote because of stating facts about cars and how they use their ignition or 12v system.

Btw the LED numerical volt reading on this device would use a negligible amount of energy, so I can only see the possibility of draining a car battery with always on 12v sockets while charging battery packs or a laptop etc.

      • Then you have some basketcase cars like the Ford Focus

Older Focus? My Focus LZ turns it off after 30 mins max.

        • LS Focus, 2 weeks at the airport with a USB charger plugged in made for a very unhappy return trip.

  • tHANKS OP, Christmas gift is shorted.

    • +1

      Nice, short pun.

  • Output Interface: 2 A Ports = not to great. tbh you want atleast 2.4 amps or 3ish for a good fast charge. fyi

    • +2

Or just use the QC3 port that'll go up to 12V.

  • u replied b4 i could change my comment lol. Doesnt say if its split between 2 ports or not and what the amps are for each port. bloody rubbishy allied junk

    • +2

QC 3.0 in one port and 2.1A in the other.

    • +1

      It is not split.
      One port is 2.4 amp
      The second is QC3

  • With the coupon, I only see "Save up to US $2.00 on orders over US $15.00" ….

    • You might need to be signed into AliExpress as I still see it.

      • I saw it B4 sign in, but then it changed it $2 off $15 spend … after sign in

Is it for 1 item only ? I want to buy 3

        • +1

Shows up now. Seller coupons usually have a daily limit.

  • I've never bought from AliExpress.

Is they anything I need to look out for? What Is the safest payment method?

    Thanks!

    • +2

AliExpress is a marketplace so you're buying from different sellers. PayPal is not accepted for AU so you have to use a CC but it's safe. I've had hundreds of orders without issue.

Obviously the thing to be mindful of is that it's coming from China. It might take 2 weeks to arrive or it could take a month.

      • It usually don't have tracking as well, you have spend a fair amount more for shipping with tracking or faster time.

  • I bought the dual port Baseus ones which ended up being too short for my socket.

Couldn't see any measurements but it looks similar, anyway to tell exactly if it will have the same problem?

    • +1

I asked a question about that on one of the many Baseus 12v charger posts on here, with no response.

If in doubt, don't purchase. You have at least one deeper than usual socket in your vehicle, maybe another socket won't be as deep.

  • Thanks, bought one. Got charged $3.38 on my ING card.
Hopefully "Seller's Shipping Method" does not mean dodgy shipping from Phillipines that takes 60+ days to deliver.

    • Received it now. QC works properly and the voltmeter is accurate!
Feels solid and of high quality, outside really is metal!
Just from the promotional pictures the little "v" is missing, but otherwise great product!

  • thanks op purchased x2

  • Thanks OP.

Ordered and also got this too (I wanted red color) for $3.26.

  • This is BS, total amount of my order comes up to $6.61. Coupon was applied, it should have been less than $4. I have just canceled this order, it's a trick transaction, stuff that.

  • Mine just arrived yesterday.

44 days to arrive so they must have used the most economical method to ship (by sea)?
