This deal isn't for everyone, I am considering signing up purely for the entertainment value, and am not posting to promote discussion on political standpoints. Hopefully we can avoid that, or at least be civilised in comments.

Same for The Courier-Mail in Brisbane and I assume all the other Murdoch papers, except for The Australian.

Nothing against OP, cos they posted a deal and a deal is a deal.

But if I am really that inclined to read a news article and it's behind a paywall, I just Google that headline and it will show up for free on another website.

Besides with the rubbish reporting these days, why bother paying. There's either typos or inaccurate reporting. PerthNow had the Google buying Fitbit deal as $3 billion dollars when everyone else was reporting 2.1 billion.

    Hopeless.

how do you do that with fairfax sites like AFR/The Age? doing that (googling headline) still sends me to paywall page…

      • +4

Turn off java for the site

    • +4

2.1 is roughly 3 in AUD, so ehhh they should have just reported it as 2.1USD.

      • Bloody hell, dont destroy a good rant, with facts. 😀

      why bother paying

Or hate. Or attacks on welfare while billion dollar companies like Murdoch and mining companies get handouts and tax breaks.

    Be informed. Reject Murdoch propaganda.

My thing I do when bored at work is reading an article on a thing in the hun, and the same one in the age, and seeing what the difference in tone is.

Not sure how difficult it is to cancel, from what I've read call them at least 1 week in advance on 1300 69 63 97

    It's 7 business days notice, not a calendar week…

Not worth the money. Just ads, conspiracy theories, and spelling mistakes.

  • Just be careful with papers from Ltd News my mother did one of these deals a year or so ago for The Advertiser/Sunday Mail cancelled well in advance they still withdrew the next period's money anyway (at the full rate), she had to fight like hell to get her money back and they still kept delivering the papers and trying to charge her for them.
