Goose Island Session IPA 24x330ml Bottles - $36 Delivered @ CUB eBay

600
PSLEIGH

Goose Island has led the craft beer movement in the United States for almost three decades. Inspired by a fateful visit to Europe, founder John Hall opened a brewpub in what was then a rundown neighbourhood in his hometown of Chicago, and started making experimental beers on site. It was a gutsy move, which paid off.

Today Goose Island is one of America’s foremost craft breweries, and has a well-earned cult following for creating award-winning, innovative beers which both redefine classics and push the limits of what beer can be.

In 2017 Goose Island is proud to be brewing our newly developed Midway Session IPA in Australia.

      Public Holiday in Melbourne tomorrow.

      • But not today

        • -6

          Probably have got a hangover.

  • +1

    Thank op, got two.

  • +16

The original while a little under hopped was a good (not great) craft beer, however since it started being brewed under licence by CUB it has become one of the most bland mass produced IPA products out there, even at that price its not worth it imo … cheers for taking the time to post it though :)

    • +6

I'm willing to bet it would be better than most at $36 delivered!?

      • +4

oh for the price its good for those who enjoy it, and yeah you wont find many other alternatives floating around for that price for sure.
I have done a carton from Dan's (not realising it was CUB produced at the time) it was not fun going back to the fridge for one each time (but i paid money for it so made it through eventually haha) Ballistic had an in brewery sale where they were selling cases of the revelation IPA for $50, so that my fridge is full (cant even fit groceries so have to uber eats haha)

      • I'd be happy to drink this for $36 a case, but agree it's nothing special.

    • All good, I'm a Carlton Draught drinker so probably wouldn't like it to begin with haha

  • +1

    Thanks, grabbed 2

  • +2

4.1% not too shabby. I thought the Midway might have meant mid strength.

    "" HONK! ""

      heh, striking resemblance.

Make the groundskeeper drink a Goose Island Session IPA

  • +1

Reviews on the Dan Murphy's website aren't very flattering.

    • +2

It's because it used to be a really good quality beer. Now that it's a macro it's one of the most boring IPAs you can get your hands on. It's more like a standard pale now.

  • +2

Reviews on Beer Advocate aren't great either. It seems to have been an ok beer that went downhill when Carlton United Brewery started to mass produce it. No longer the craft beer it once was.

    • +2

Please leave some mystery and anticipation for me please, lol

      • +8

One of the benefits of you having your own taste buds is that noone elses opinion really matters!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Worth a try at that price!

  • +2

In 2017 Goose Island is proud to be brewing our newly developed Midway Session IPA in Australia.

If you have a look at the reviews based on the ones brewed in Australia, they are nowhere near as good as the ones brewed in the USA.

    • +1

It's cheap beer, drink it after 2pm once you're already half snagged!

      • -5

        It's cheap beer

Based on reviews, I'd rather drink Carlton Draught…

  • +1

Good value at this price. Pretty easy to drink and good for summer. Not as strong as the Goose in the US but nevertheless worth buying IMO.

  • Good chance that this won't be delivered by the guaranteed date (mine says this Friday 8th Nov) with the seller being away and tomorrow being a public holiday in Vic - if not make sure you claim your $5 voucher as per this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/465991

PS - if buying multiple make it in seperate purchases as you can claim the $5 on each delivery (if they don't deliver on time) ;)

    • I've actually been getting $10 vouchers for failed garuanteed deliveries.

  • +5

I drank some of these yesterday. Not great IPA, not even a good beer in general. Really tastes weak and watered down. Classic CUB

    • -1

      confirms the reviews on Dan's…

  • +2

Agree with others, I haven't tried the US produced version but the CUB produced ones (full and mid) are rubbish.

  • +1

Cheeeeeers brosef - got me one slab

    • Enjoy em Brosama bin laden!

  • +2

got this beer last time they offered it. half got slabs that were just in date, then as orders filled it got progressively better.

Having said that, it was one of the worst beers i've had in a long time.

  • +1

Gotta love the term "session IPA".

    It's a pale ale.

  • +1

"Goose Island has led the craft beer movement in the United States for almost three decades."

Unlikely. But it is, nonetheless, a good deal.

  • The Pirate life Port lager is $36 also. Great beer for that price.

    Price went up again :(

    • They increased it from $36 to $80?

    • The price is back to $36.

  • +1

    sold out

  • This is not a craft beer. Goose Island is owned by AB Inbev which is about as far from "craft" as you can get. It's mass-produced shite.

  • Not craft

  • (profanity). I wasn't paying attention and selected discount code 'Potter' instead.

    Saved $1.50 or something…

  • +1

Arrived today! Looks like they picked up on their delivery woes!

    • +1

Also had mine delivered and after reading all the negative comments, I must say I actually don't mind it at all! Certainly for the price. Also, the expiry date on mine is April 2020, so well in date.

  • +1

Drinking now - nothing on my favourite Balter XPA, but I looked to order another slab at that price. I like it.

  • Had one now. My god what a bland beer, just like you guys are saying. Drinkable but nothing more, $36 is about right

    • what beers do you recommend? i had one last night, not much flavour but not too bad for the price. i tried the Two Suns by Asahi the other day, thought i was drinking plain water.

      • If you want a light, hoppy and fruity ale like this one is aiming for, then without getting too fancy 4 Pines Pale Ale, Stone and Wood Pacific Ale and Fat Yak are good examples. The Coopers Pale and Sparkling ales are also solid, but with a more malt-driven flavour.

        • those are my regular beers okay i'm not missing anything out. thanks.

      • Can never go wrong with Little Creatures Pale Ale.

James Boag's Premium for more lager-esque.

        • Yes little creatures is my number one favourite beer, Never tried James Boag’s tho.
