    With the quality overclocking possible, and the question marks above the XT's head about cooling, voltages and drivers;
At least for the time being the non XT seems much more compelling to me: unless you're driving a high res or a huge fps.

anyone reckon it'd be worth waiting for black friday sales? looking to replace my 480 and this is tempting at this particular price.

    • There are worldwide shortages for 7nm GPU's, TSMC is struggling to meet demand. I strongly doubt the price will get any better than what is currently available this year.

    • I don't like the chances of it moving much from here. And given partner 5700 models or reference 5700xt's are both $100+ more, this value is unbeatable imho
(Flash 5700xt bios and undervolt for even more performance if you like: https://www.techspot.com/review/1917-amd-radeon-5700-bios-fl…)

      • Yeah, decided to take the bait and buy it with a gift card for a final price of $432.44.
Given I don't think I'll be gaming on 1440/4k for a while (looking for a 1080p/144hz monitor in the future) I guess this will be good enough to last me a while.

        • Just so you know, this will handle 1440/144hz just fine.

          • @Junglegreen: Are you sure, isn't that the XT model?

            • @x4m2b: 1440p would definitely be playable with 5700, but you might have to lower settings a bit to be getting 144fps

        • Nope this card will handle most AAA games high/ultra in 1440. Sure you may have to expect a frame loss for 144hz as well but will be fine.

          https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2019-07-17…

          Farcry 5 - Ultra setting @ 1440p = 107 frames
          Witcher 3 - Ultra setting @ 1440p = 82

I mean, it even handles certain games on high/ultra settings in 4K at 45+fps if you are okay with those frames. I just think there is a massive bias in benchmarking toward excessive frame results.

  • I bought yesterday for $459! Oh well.

    This is RTX 2060 Super?

    • I took the plunge and grabbed one.

  • I haven't built a PC for years and game on console, my main motivation is more multitasking for work (not graphics). But I'm looking for a card to handle 1 43" 4k tv at 4:4 Chroma and 2 X 24" regular displays in portrait. Is this possible with this card? (I want the tv there to have my Xbox one as well)

I'm thinking a Ryzen 3600 and 32gb ram to pair with?

I'm all for you telling me if I'm way off the mark

It can do 4 monitors but if you're not gaming it's probably overkill. Keep in mind it's 3 x DP and 1 x HDMI so make sure you're setup is compatible. As for CPU/RAM, it depends on your intended use.

Thanks very much for that, the tv for HDMI and the 2 monitors I have are DP so that works awesome. I have a steering wheel setup for the xbox compatible with PC so may do some gaming. Sounds the goods! Thanks a heap for that
