I got one of these the other day as almond milk adds a nice flavor to vanilla protein shakes. Do they ever get to $1/L for any type of almond milk

    • Not that I’ve seen but Almond Breeze vanilla unsweetened has been down as low as $1.25 a month or two ago. Wish I stocked up on more!

      • You're in luck then because Almond Breeze is $1.25 at Woolies again tomorrow :)
Although ever since I tried So Good Unsweetened Almond I can't drink anything else. It's so much creamier than the other brands, very tasty.

        • Yeah we prefer the So Good too. I find it least likely to fall out of solution in my coffee and end up with almond sludge at the bottom.

    Ingredients:
Filtered Australian Water, Organic Almonds (3%), Organic Sunflower Oil, Salt.

How can this thing be called milk?

    • "faux" milk then?

      • is banana bread fake bread?
is that the real reason of the riots in Honk Kong?

    • Have a look at other almond milk brands. Similar ingredients and usually have 2.5% almonds.

What are you expecting exactly? It's like soy milk, or rice milk, or literally any milk alternative - not actual milk.

It's creamy, it's white, it's somewhat thick - like milk.

If you break down what actual milk is, you're going to find it's similarly water with a rather low percentage of fats and oils.

Good price, 'clean' ingredients, but honestly my least favourite to drink. All the others are better tasting. Probably cause of the crappy chemical ingredients….

Find this to be true for the entire brand range. Horrible tasting compared to the competition, and often cost more.

    Is this activated almonds?

    • +1

No, and this only contains 3% almonds. For an extra sixty cents (currently also on special) you can try the Pureharvest version that contains 10% activated organic almonds.

      • Higher %, but can't say i'm a fan of that one, far too sweet thanks to the rice syrup.

        • Fair enough, but there's also the Pureharvest version with only 7% almonds that is "unsweetened" here.. It is 1.6% sugar versus the sweetened version of 2.4% sugar.

From my experience trying different brands of almond milk(unsweetened) for coffee, this one, almond breeze and activated almonds curdle up really quick. I found So Good and Aldi cheap brand to be my go to these days.

    • Many people agree. We were using almond breeze in our Cafe, and got complaints. Swapped to so good, but more complaints due to sweetness.
Everyone seems to prefer the select brand, which I agree makes a better coffee.

Oddly enough they dislike is using it, with the reason being availability and consistency throughout the stores… But surely all Woolworths stock the home brand?
