      It is most likely too late in Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto which usually bloom late March for a week

      By late April there is a risk you miss the cherry blossums.

      More of a late march /early April thing.

      I have a friend from Japan who says he doesn't go Cherry Blossoms anymore cause it's too packed, especially with more tourists. I would've liked to see them but after hearing that, I don't think I will. I hate seeing locals displaced by tourists.

        I prefer to go in late October and early November where the weather is starting to cool in southern parts of japan and Tokyo where you would see the autumn colours in the trees…

    Which part did you visit in June? Late June tends to be quite hot/the wet season around Central Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya etc). It would be a nice time to visit Hokkaido… But I guess any time is a great time to visit Hokkaido.

  We sucker Ozzies always seem to get ripped off. Airfares from the USA to Japan, China, Thailand, are around $300.

  These countries are just up the road for us and should be much cheaper than current prices.
