More royalties for the Money Bin, woohoo!

    Woo-ooooo

Fascinating video regarding catchy tunes, in particular this.

Plus 1 for reminding me again :)

  • +7

not complete. there are nearly 100 episodes in total so this is missing season 4 and part of season 3 (most likely)

    • +1

ah the pitfalls of buying DVDs online.. oh well… I guess sometimes life is like a hurricane..

  • Great post. Duck tales should be a staple in everyone's home

  • +3

Disney plus be able to stream this most likely

    • +1

Yeah but why would you pay for another greedy streaming service?

  • -4

you cant find these on torrent ? LOL

    • -2

I reckon I torrented this exact set in 2001

  • +4

Duck tales is on Stan for anyone interested

    • +3

It's the 2017 series on Stan.
This deal is the older series.

      • Ahh. Didn’t look into it. Just saw it when kids were scrolling through

  • I prefer the late night edition

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmpAx8Z5z40

    • That's the one that I remember!

  • -1

Note… this would require buying a DVD player. Do they even sell many of these anymore?

Always surprised DVD deals are popular in the era of streaming.

    • Of course not

    • +1

      X360 or XB1

    • +4

In fairness, you could make this same comment on any consumable deal.

      Two from today's front page:
      - God of War. Note… this would require buying a PS4.
      - Reese's Puffs. Note… this would require buying a bowl, milk, and a spoon… or choking on dry puffs.

      • Absolutely. Just a PS4 and bowls / spoons seems like 2019 technology.

Think we ditched our DVD player 7 years ago now.

        • Yet most would still have some sort of playback device. As I mentioned, a games console or some form of blu-ray player would suffice.

Given the kids nature of the show, every chance that the kids still have access to something to play back a disc

        • Bowls & spoons 2019 technology?? Back to my cave then…

    • +5

Many people are entirely over streaming, with the monthly fees, random deletion of content, and multitude of competing services.

I cancelled the four different music and TV streaming services I’d subscribed to and went back to Blu-Rays and CDs. I can buy a few each month, build up an epic library, and keep it all even if I stop paying each month.

      • +2

And commentary tracks as well, which have largely been a casualty in the age of streaming.

  • -1

You posted a deal this year for a video camera. I ditched mine half a decade ago replacing it with my mobile. I'm surprised still and video cameras are still popular

  • Wow you can still buy DVDs? Price seems pretty expensive for something that was released 30+ years ago. Good old Disney.

    • -3

No one should still be using DVDs - but they're 20 years old, not 30.

      • +5

Why can’t I use DVDs? I have loads of them and use them regularly.

Sure, Blu-Ray is better, but for content that was originally broadcast in SD, the difference is marginal.

Am I not allowed to play them anymore?

        • -2

Perhaps I should have said "No one should be still buying DVDs".

I've purchased a ridiculous amount of DVDs over the years, but I've stopped playing them. Some I've upgraded to Blu-ray, others I can just stream.

          • +2

@AdrianW: Any genuine movie fan purchased a tone of DVDs. When the tech came out (replacing VHS) it was just amazing, we'll never see that leap again.
I was 18 and paid $1200 for a Toshiba DVD player in '98.

            • @R00D: I think from SDR content to HDR content is a huge leap. The increase in contrast is a game changer, when you have light areas and dark areas on screen at the same time it looks amazing.

            • @R00D: I probably bought the next version of that player in '99 - had dropped to $800 by then. Mine was an SD-2109 - was a regular visitor to MichaelDVD and the DVDPlaza forums.

Got 5 free DVDs with the player, bought some at Myer (for $34.95 each), also from Amazon US, Amazon CA, Reel.com, DVDExpress.com, DVDSoon, DeepDiscountDVD, etc.

      • I meant Ducktales was first released/aired 30+ years ago.

        • +1

          Hah, that makes more sense.

  • -4

Imagine paying for this when torrents exist

    • +12

I know. Same as those idiots paying full price for groceries when you can just stuff it all down your pants and walk out.

      • I stuff them in my pants and then pay for them.

  • Is this available in 4k?

    • Nope.
It's not even available in 1080p yet (although, perhaps Disney+ will get a HD version?).

    • +1

Given that 4K is 24x the resolution of DVD, that version will be 24 times the price……so $720. Start saving! :p

    • Like you'd see the difference anyway (if there was a 1080p version)… Pfft.

  • are they donald duck kids?

  • +1

    Like for nostalgia :)

Aren't we all growing old nicely like Uncle Scrooge? :)
