Robot Vacuum. Roborock E35?

I want a robot vacuum.
My budget is up to $400.

My house is 3 stories -
2 bedrooms on each of the upper floors with a stairwell between the room. Carpet floor covering
ground floor is lounge/dining/kitchen with polished concrete floors.

My research suggests the Roborock E35 will be a reasonable choice.

Currently on ebay for AUD330 after 20% discount from a local seller.

1) For the budget is this a good choice for my needs? Can i do better?

2) Am I likely to get it cheaper (<$300 delivered) if I wait for the black friday sales? if so, what sites should I be monitoring?

thx fellow tightwads

Got the roborock s50 for $629 minus 20% ebay sale, minus 18% from discounted ebay gift cards, minus $60 SB promotion (had to buy other things as well to meet the threshold though) which brings it to $352. Minus TRS claim on invoice which shows GST on full price of the product meaning less than $300 net.

    • Well done!

How long since we've seen 18% ebay gift cards (or even the 10% ones I bought my TV with)?

I'm going to India next year but can't imagine lugging a vacuum with me to get the TRS (assuming I do have to take out of country).

      Thx

    • pope of OZB! hands down

    • Well done I have tears in my eyes.. quick I better bottle them for later :p

No but really that is impressive.

We need a new word to describe this level of ozbargain mastery I can't think of anything right now that sounds good but something like we have broden for somebody who buys out a deal to sell higher later.

      Bargain Lord?

      Bargain God?

      Garbained? (God ozbargained)

Imma stick with garbained and see if people catch on and it works lol.

      Garbained.

    • Hi, is the roborock s50 the gen 2 (latest version)?

  • I was considering getting a robot vacuum cleaner (especially when Aldi had its sale on a couple of months ago). But then I read a Choice review which said that robot vacuum cleaners don't do a good job on carpet. I'd be interested to know if anyone here can share their experiences

Best money I've ever spent, even on carpet. Even though its not a perfect job, its 95% done without me having to lift a finger, and can run it multiple times a week - which is much more than me pushing around even a cordless dyson.

We run our Xiaomi S50 on our carpeted areas every night, it does a great job picking up pet hair, tracked crystal litter & dust etc.

Yes a manual vacuum is always going to do a better job as it has a person behind it controlling it & inspecting as they go, but for the convenience of only having to do a manual vacuum less than once a month, I would say it is 100% worth the investment.

      • I figure a 90% job every week is better than the 100% job I do every 4 weeks.

        • Honestly considering bringing some to my cleaning job and putting them on while I do other duties then coming back and finishing up after them but I feel like my work would frown upon that if they found out and someone might steal it while I am on the other side of the worksite.

          One can dream though.

Vacuuming is one of the most annoying tasks in my line of work cleaning because there are so many rooms and floors like it is crazy how none of my co-workers don't even do it secretly behind our bosses and inspectors back.. probably too easy to get caught and seen lol.

Currently the best deal I think

  • The S50 looks well reviewed for Robo vacuum and mop.

Kogan appears to now have the cheapest Roborock S50 at $509

Let me know if anyone has a better deal :)
