Disgusting Racism by Australian Youfoodz CEO and Actress Fiancée

https://youtu.be/wbnegyPAZd0

Who knew the makers of pre-packaged, overpriced crap are actually closet racists.

YouFoodz needs to fire the CEO, even if he is the founder.

Lance Giles, CEO and founder of meal delivery business Youfoodz, and his fiancée Jordana Stott were caught on video mocking Asian people while in Singapore for the Global Restaurant Leadership summit.

The second clip, which is even more expletive-laden, captures a group of Asian guests posing for a picture in a swimming pool, as Stott mockingly comments, “Get it cts, fing get the photo, oh f**ing yeah she-shing.” A male voice, presumably belonging to Giles, can also be heard repeating Stott’s last words “she-shing,” attempting to mimic an Asian language.

    • Now that's raci… Oh wait that's actually fair 😀

      • You know how many asians say " Gday " or " how ya goin " in an Aussie accent.

Not a fair comparison. Go watch the video again

    • (Mr Steinbrenner voice)
      Promote this man!

    • Says the guy having a whinge on ozbargain. How is that different to "making a tweet".
If you don't care about something, why not just move on? Why you gotta have a whinge? What is it with you boomers.

Can somebody please explain to me why you would move to a country and then claim racism? It really makes no sense at all. I mean, if you really thought the country was a racist one then why would you move there to begin with? Sure you might want a better paying job and a nicer place to live and all that, but that good economy and society was created by the racist natives and their ancestors. Why would you want anything to do with that?

To be honest it seems kinda predatory.

  • Why jump on the racist bandwagon?

I could mock her stupid bogan accent and actions. Would that be racist? If I was Chinese, would it be racist of me?
She is offensive and low-class. Is that not enough?

    • Yeah she does seem very low class for a man of his financial means. It seems like he is following her lead but who knows I could be wrong (it's only a few seconds of video).

You can mock whatever you like if you find that amusing or you're trying to make a point of something. But certain groups will go straight into outrage mode and claim racism. Other groups will just take it in their stride.

Claims of racism can be used as a weapon against other people too, as can over-blowing the seriousness of those claims. It's all a part of our tribalistic nature.

But certain groups will go straight into outrage mode and claim racism. Other groups will just take it in their stride.

I think it's more about whether the person making the joke understands who they are talking about, or if it's just a dumb stereotype borne out of ignorance. I think it would get under anyone's skin more to be joked about by someone who clearly doesn't know a thing about them. Because it's not really mocking them at all, it's associating them with some false caricature and being proudly ignorant of them.
However knowing enough about a culture to make jokes that they themselves would recognize about themselves demonstrates that you understand them, which is the more important thing, and can get them on board because then it becomes more of a shared joke.

This part of a comedian roundtable does a better job explaining what I'm trying to get at

And it may seem to you that certain groups speak out about racism more, but that's probably much more to do with how broadly their culture is understood, or how present they are, or how misunderstood they are specifically among the people you are around.
Or to put it another way, a "chingchong" voice is about as lazy as racial stereotypes get, but it's still around. In my experience almost no one is pointing at Italians and saying "its-a me Mario", but if it were then I'd also expect to hear more Italians complaining about it. But it could be because people know not to make that joke anymore, or there's less Italians around, or I simply never cross paths with them.

damn. I really like youfoodz, sure its small portions, but it is super convenient and I like its refrigerated instead of frozen so it only takes 2 mins to cook and each meal is the same instructions on how to cook (basically).

Don't want to support a company doing such things and also apparently now underpaying their workers.

Please help me find an alternative?!?

    • Found any?

      • MyBodyFuel delivers a few boxes to people at work every Monday but never used them so cannot comment on details.

  • no more youfoodz and don't post any deals from them because they are racists

I wouldn't care if the CEOs were glued naked on a city street. Are you buying the food because of their behaviour or because it suits your needs?

As for all these virtue signalling fools your morals are so hypocritical.

You will still fill your car up with fuel that came from a country that treats homosexuals and women badly. You will buy your electronic goods and clothing from another country that censors the internet, the press and punishes those of a Islamic faith.

So what is worse when you take a wide view of the world?

    • Please stop talking sense.

      • Too bad for mr-eneloop decent eneloops don't get made anymore

    • It's a lot easier to demonstrate your opposition in this case than the other examples you provide, though. Much harder to find alternatives to petrol companies or goods manufacturers in China.

      • Not really. You could drive an electric vehicle and many goods are made in other countries.

        • Or a LPG vehicle.

  • Someone quick, find a deal on popcorn, I've already gone through 2 packets. 🍿 🍿 🍿

  • Don't forget to bomb their Google review folks😊 currently 4.3* 🥱 nightt

    • They've stopped the review system, typical company PR 101.

      • Still able to review, checked my mate's Google maps (he hasn't submit post that's how I see)

  • small bump for this thread, are there any similar alternative brands which get posted on ozbargain? need some quick and easy meals to keep at work so i stop buying big expensive lunches everyday

Have you tried My Muscle Chef? Despite the unfortunate name, you don't need to be a gym junkie to enjoy them.
They have decent meals and you have the choice, big or small. Youfoodz for me always had mini portions, hungry after 1-2hrs

  • Yolo

  • Youfoodz are in damage control again, as this video has just gone viral on TikTok. They are having to limit comments on Instagram and Facebook, are getting review bombed on Google. Their marketing team must hate this video.

Also to point that I'm so disappointed in some of the ozbargain community lmao. Their points are "yeah but other people are racist too. So what?" Or "So if people made fun of white people it wouldn't be racist?" You just know what they're doing. Did anyone say shit like that?

      Disappointing overall.

This video IS racist just from the fact they they make fun of the language even though they mostly speak English. Ironic though that Australia doesn't really care and the ozcommunity… Speaks volumes.

      • Well I've never bought from youfoodz and I advise EVERYONE I KNOW not to buy from them or anything associated with Lance and Jordana (wouldn't expect anything more from such people).

Yes there is a selfish apathetic element in ozbargainers, hopefully a minority only.
