  • Hi OP, just curious if you seen any MX Master 2 on sales atm? Thank you

    • No, sorry. I was at JB HIFI and the MX Master 2 was the same price as MX Master 3 (!!). Seems like they're not running out the mx master 2 yet…

      • +1

Yeah I think I am happy to pay little more for the MX Master, because it is better overall. I am not sure about your opinion, that's just my thoughts.

        • +1

Have the Mx Master 2 and MX Anywhere 2, prefer the anywhere 2 for personal comfort reasons. Portability also a consideration

          • @dangerdanger: I agree, I think MX Master 2 is bit more comfy as it is larger. but in terms of portablity, MX Anywhere 2 wins.

        • +2

Different mice, different purposes. Both are great - just better for different uses.

I use a MX Master at work, but would prefer an MX Anywhere to keep in my laptop bag, or for travel. I used an MX Anywhere for a while as my main mouse (when I was travelling between houses) and it was awesome!

Hoping to pick up a MX Master 3S at some stage, and hopefully a MX Anywhere 3S (if/when they release it) as well!! Why not both! :)

    • New ozbargain deal for mx master 3 here :

      • Thanks man, I prob just wait for MX master 2 since it is bit cheaper

When's the new one I want it nowwwwwww

I found the MX Anywhere to be a terrible mouse because of the scroll wheel and middle button.

    • -1

Whats wrong with the scroll wheel?

      • +2

It can't be used as a middle click button.

        • You can program the gesture button to be middle click in Logitech Options

          • +1

@Teebytok: Yes I know, but how does that make up for the fact that the scroll wheel can't be used as a middle click button? You asked what was wrong with the scroll wheel and I provided an answer.

            • +1

@sickburn: Not sure why you're getting downvoted. Lack of middle button is so frustrating after you've gotten used to using it as a shortcut for open in new tab and close tab etc.

            • +1

@sickburn: It makes up for it by being a viable alternative? BTW just checked, you can also program the scroll wheel to be middle click in Options. I didn't downvote you, but you're being downvoted probably for complaining about something which can easily be changed.

              • @Teebytok: I'm not being downvoted, but Diiji1 is.
I haven't checked the software in quote some time now, but are you saying we can now program the scroll wheel (when pressed down) to be the middle click? Or are you saying we can rock the scroll wheel left/right to perform the same function?

                • @sickburn:

are you saying we can now program the scroll wheel (when pressed down) to be the middle click?

I would like to know that also! :)

FWIW, I disagree with Diji that this is a terrible mouse, BUT I do agree with him that it is annoying that there is no middle click. (If that has changed, and the middle click can be programmed in options, that's great! But previously when I had one of these, that wasn't the case)

And I accept Teebytok's suggestion that the gesture button could be used as an alternative, BUT I also agree with sickburn that it is still a valid criticism if the scroll wheel can't be programmed to middle click - the gesture button may be a valid alternative for some, but may not suit others.

Different strokes (or should I say clicks! :P) for different folks - nobody is wrong here! :)

(If the scroll wheel can be programmed to middle click, that is awesome, and this whole discussion is moot!) :)

                  • @caprimulgus: Yes, I agree the mouse is decent. I use my mouse with my left hand, and my index finger can easily find the scroll wheel to either scroll or middle click. Having to re-train my finger to instead press the gesture button for a middle click is annoying, not to mention the fact that I use multiple mice so I'd have to re-train myself every time I switch computers.

If Logitech ever decide to update this mouse, I'd like the scroll wheel to actually be a button, and perhaps add a removeable cover so that we could store the USB dongle onboard. Heck, even AA batteries might work better than the onboard lipo.

As it stands, I will continue to use my Razer Orochi or Atheris as my travel mouse.

      @ Diji1 … not really an issue… easily re-programmable…

These are a great mouse. I have severe osteo-arthritus, but I have found these to be the most comfortable mouse to use… very comfortable to use, even for longer periods… no cramping unlike the MX Master.

I've just bought another one off the back of this post. My current MX mouse is over 3 years old and has been problem-free (except for dumb Microsoft 10 updates which screw up the driver from time to time and have had to reinstall drivers).

This is a perfect portable mouse, I just copped it. Although since I use it as my main desktop mouse, I wish I got the MX Master instead

    Price beat at Officeworks

    $55.10 (price match + 5% off)

    • Good job iangohs, as per description. If Officeworks is close by, do it

can confirm these are fantastic mice, and great value at this price.

Can't recommend this mouse enough! It's my daily driver at work. You can hit the button on the base to switch between paired computers/phones, all the keys are configurable and the weight is perfect.

  • I've been through three of these mice thanks to the switch QA being terrible and it's further ruined by their inane 'super' scroll taking precedence over middle mouse click as others alluded to in this thread. No storage for their usb dongle also sucks.

  • Comes up at $69 for me. Anyone else?

    • Looks like you missed out, mate
