  • This close to black Friday I'm hesitant pulling the trigger. Might wait to see if a 5 plus or 5x plus goes on sale cheaper.

    Opinions?

    • i'm waiting it out

    • Ditto!

Looking for 5x plus as well

This has the newer O2 heart rate sensor which is in the Fenix 6 for those looking for that feature, but is missing Spotify and Garmin Pay.

I'm running a 5S Plus and have the Spotify app a bit of a battery killer, to the extent that I've gone back to my Mighty offline Spotify player. Garmin Pay is handy if you in a situation where you haven't got your phone with you or it's a pain to get at (i.e. buried in a laptop bag).

    Forerunner 935 - $399 - https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-forerunner-935-gps-he…
    Fenix 5 - $549 - https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-fenix-5x-sapphire-gps…
    Vivoactive 4 - $439 - https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-vivoactive-4-smartwat…

A few good discount at rebel sport C&C - 20% off RRP ALL items. Above looks pretty good. Not sure if I want to hold out black friday and expect better deal.

    • That discount on the Vivoactive 4 is good buying - that model's only been out a couple of months, has the O2 sensor, Spotify and Garmin Pay.

      • pair it with rebel sport giftcard purchase via AGL (i think its 5% or 7.5% discount at $50/$100 intervals) a decent deal to almost $400.

Not as good as JB HIFI catalogue error where they advertised the vivo 4 instead of the 3 at 250 but sadly wouldn't honour it.

  • I plan on competing in a half marathon and full marathon in the next 12 months. CUrrently using my galaxy watch but would like to get a Garmin. Recommendations between the 935 vs 5X Sports? Cheers

check out DCrainmaker or rizknow, i think he did a decent comparison and review on both.

      • Thanks Mate, will check it out….

Do we think black friday will bring down the prices even further?

I'm waiting it out and hoping the whole 5 series will be on sale. They gotta eventually clear the stock for the 6 and 945! I'm not overly fussed if i miss out. It's more of a want than a need.

          • @pippohippo: Im just thinking do i pull the trigger on the 935 or do i wait…..

            • @livo81: flip a coin :) and see how you react

              There's also the 735XT for $299

              • @pippohippo: lol, i think you might be onto something. thanks again for your help!!!

@livo81: no worries, let me know what you end up with :)

        • Honestly, I don't think they will go down any further. They are already at almost 50% off (Fenix 5x for me)

          • @rhymingboxer1: Hey mate. Do you own the fenix 5x. What do you think

The offer got extended to the 8/12 so got some time to make a decision.

@livo81: Hey mate, yes I do. It's a pretty solid watch in it's build. If you do a lot of training outside (not in gym) then this is definitely a strong contender to buy. However, I was disappointed to learn that it does not have a mic or support Garmin Pay. I expected it to do those specially with its price tag. Apart from those 2 things I am pretty happy with it.

These are multi-sport watches. I recommend going with something cheaper if you don't require tracking bike and swim.

  • Back in stock again at $549 now

    • Updated thanks
