Lenovo Smart Display 7 with Google Assistant - $79 @ The Good Guys

640

Popped into Good Guys today as i got my $20 Concierge Credit. Always struggle to find something to buy but noticed they had the Lenovo Smart Display 7 on sale for $79 down from $179. Seems a good deal for what you get. Only available in store it would seem as i can find no trace of the item on their website. ive uploaded a link to my receipt as i forgot to take a pic when i was in store.

First deal post here so please let me know if ive not done things correctly.

        • Thanks guys. Will have a look at that tomorrow.

          • @hazzad: Just tried that - you have to ask for traffic to your destination, which will be shown and it will send the directions to your phone.

            • @elektron: Yeah ok. So same as setting a work destination in a morning routine. Shows the map on screen and then pops up a option to view details on your phone.

              • @hazzad: Pretty much but you can speak any address / POI as well - not just for a saved destination.

  • Managed to get one for $71 from Belmont WA.

Luckily I called and asked to put on hold at $79… When they scanned at the check-out the price went up but overrode to $79 (- Frenzy10 discount).

  • Will this still be available tomorrow? I'm planning to rush to TGG Castle Hill first thing in the morning.

You needed to choose Zerg, not Protoss

  • Seems they have now officially been released in OZ. GG now has a listing up https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lenovo-smart-display-7-with-g…. HN and JB also now have them. Explains why they werent listed in GG website last week.

Just proves how good this deal was especially with the frenzy discount (10% - if lucky) plus any e-gift card discount (5%) on top :-)

      • Pretty happy with mine. Other than it having a spaz on the first night i configured it(wouldnt recognise any commands or show and additional app content on front page), which was fixed by a factory reset. Hasnt missed a beat since. Pretty happy it all things considered.

    • Considering it is also USD $129.99 via B&H one has to wonder if that is also an error.

Surely it's unheard of that there is a price parity between US and AU $$$

  • For anyone that has one of these do you guys find when it changes via the ambient light sensor the screen goes absolutely unreadably dark?? I have my display in my room and when the room goes dark the display also goes dark and it puts a clock up. But i can't read it as it's too dark. Is there a way to turn that feature off? When i watch a movie in my room the screen turns on and off when my tv lights up and goes dark. Drives me crazy!
