Would these be any good for movies or only for music?

    • +5

I would have no hesitation in recommending them for silent movies.

    • Do some research online.
In my opinion cheaper models tend to do better with movies than music.
Movies usually just demand clarity and deep-bass (powerful subwoofer), music is a bit more complex with reproducing instruments & vocals accurately.

    • They'd be fine for movies, much better than the TV's speakers, but for a "good" movie setup you really need at least a centre channel and sub.

      • Yes have added to notes in description.
The full Monitor Audio 5.1 package is available on-sale at Eastwood HiFi.

And since the Monitor Audio C150 Centre speaker is still normal price everywhere, the savings are only $62 for getting the package compared to getting everything separately.

        • If you want to cheap out on centres, buy the bookshelves, turn it on its side and split the pair with another ozbargainer

  • C150 Centre speaker available for $219 Delivered here @ The Audio Tailor.
Making it cheaper to buy everything in the 5.1 pack separately by $172.
