I heard that more than 700 games from Xbox1, Ps4 and Switch can be used to trade.

You'd hope so for a saving of like.. $25

    • +2

Not even really, actually more like $5 since youd not be getting the $20 from trading in the 2 games (assuming the game has to be worth $10)

  • Says on the website each game has to be worth $10 trade in.

Destiny 2 ps4 could not be traded… was worthless

    • lol the games literally free on pc so maybe thats brought down console value

      • -1

It's literally free on every platform the game exists on

i did this with, mario odyssey and let go pikachu and got the game for 19.70

      F

i'd finished both games so for "$30" per game without hassle of trying to sell to idiots on facebook marketplace imo that's a win

        • +3

You could have price matched Big W or JB and only been $9 out of pocket given they have it for $69.

    • +2

Mario odyssey is one game that will hold its value for years. You could get $40 on ebay pretty easily?

      • +2

        More like $55 really.

I hold on to my Nintendo games. I still regret trading in my copy of Pokémon Red for the GBC version of Donkey Kong Country.

I was a lot younger then, okay? And it came with a Donkey Kong cap. And I still had my Pokémon Yellow, so I thought I wouldn't miss it, but… ;(

    • Hence why EB is still kicking around.

    • Yeah, never trade a game like Mario Odyssey, that will always hold its value to sell. Rookie error

Does anyone actually ever do these deals? Trade in 2 60+ dollar games and save like 20 dollars on one new game. Just seems ridiculous

just to let you guys know

PS4 Knack and Infamous second son only for $5 each.

Has anyone tried trading Carnival Games and/or Nickelodeon Kart Racers?

Don’t forget to use your EB gmes card to get extra 10% added to your total trade in.

    I got ratchet & clank ps4 $7+$0.70
    Wolfebstein 2 ps4 $7+0.70
    Doom ps4 $5+0.50

    Grand total $20.90

They have this "deal" for pretty much all new release games.

Remember kids, trading in games is bad, mmkay? EB pays you a quarter of what you paid for a game three weeks ago, then they stick a price sticker on it for $5 less than a new copy and put it on the shelf, right next to the new copies, and all the busy parents who have just given up and don't understand why kids need another new game buy it. EB makes all the profit, and that's less money going to support developers to let them make new games, or, you know, feed their families.

I'm going to go much further into rant territory by saying: it's pretty much impossible to support your friendly local game store any more, because… there aren't really that many left. But at the very least, not EB, okay? Ever since The Games Wizards got bought out and run into the ground by GAME (seriously guys, original name you had there) EB has had pretty much a monopoly on the video game store market (and they also have a monopoly in the US, and… actually I haven't thoroughly researched this, but probably elsewhere), so if there isn't a non-EB video game store near you (and from personal experience, I can highly recommend that if you're near The Gamesmen or a Gametraders, go to them) at least buy your games from Big W or JB Hi-Fi or something, okay? They at least pretend they care about you by not just charging RRP for everything and then practically stealing it back from you when you're done with it… I've not infiltrated the ranks of other stores enough to know if they actually care about you, but it's a good start.

  • These trades are not worth it anymore. When you could trade 2 and get it for $29 it was borderline worth it with some trade value but now it's no where near worth it. The game will be on sale in the next 2 weeks for black Friday so wouldnt was my time on this mediocre 'deal'.

The game will be on sale in the next 2 weeks for black Friday…

You must not be familiar with Pokemon game prices. Don't hold your breath.

Your overall sentiment is still valid, though, just don't shop at overpriced EBGames in the first place.

      • +2

You must not be familiar with Pokemon Nintendo game prices

Fixed that minor error you had there

  • I would be very surprised if there was no one selling it on a black Friday special for $50. You're right, they hold their price but black Friday seems to just have ridiculous sales and I would be confident in saying these will probably be one. I would put money on Amazon doing it.

    • +2

With Amazon matching launch day deals and the $5 discount for Prime members, I only paid $57, so if this happens I won't be too much out of pocket.

Now I just have to hope it gets here before Black Friday, apparently them shipping it express post on Thursday wasn't enough to get it here yesterday.

      • Mine arrived yesterday. Still waiting for my dlc code though for the gold bag :/

        • I got the code, but no game. Wanna trade?

Yeh guys this is a great deal!!! For eb games

  • +2

Imo the game isn't worth $39, you're just giving away 2 games.
