Hi y'all!

Just thought I'd share this deal for anyone looking at buying a relatively light 15" gaming/workstation laptop! Alienware is generally pretty expensive even with the 30% off but it's almost on parity with MSI GS65, Gigabyte Aeros etc with the same screen and Graphic card.

Personally, I'm waiting for a deal on the MSI Prestige Creator P65 but am holding out til Nov 29th to see what will be on sale.

  • wasn't there one with an OLED screen?

    • Yeah there is an OLED version. Not sure what the difference in pricing but I'm sure it'd be a few $XXX.

  • Geez that MSI one in white looks sooo good! Slim and powerful, hoping it will drop to ~$3k locally?

It’s down to $2500 for the 2060 grey model ok eBay, I’m hoping it goes sub 2300… The prestige 14 also has a nice design and decent but lower spec gpu. Tossing up between the two as I don’t game as much anymore.

      • I was looking at decent laptops (dell had one a few days ago for $1500 17") for minimal gaming (Hots, overwatch etc.). But this one has me on the hook lol Fingers crossed somewhere near xmas it will drop there :)

      • The prestige 14 will throttle it does not have a good enough cooling system for its specs. The 15 will preform better.

Yeah I saw some reviews, leaning towards the 14 purely due to size. Undervolting will help reduce the throttling but does gimp it the cpu/gpu by 5-10%.

          • @sunarde: Yeah, but if it can't preform you might as well get something with lower specs that can cool its self better. I would like the prestige 15 but its quite overpriced at the moment considering you can get the gs65 which has much better specs for less. There is also the older 15 inch model ps63 but that one also has slight thermal issue as well however for these specs in a thin form factor all seem to overheat.

Your calculation for the post-CR price is a bit off. Remember it's 7% of the GST-exclusive price so final price should be around $2,490.

    • Thanks! Never knew it was GST exclusive. Makes sense though!

  • 2.6k for a rtx 2060 :/

  • Great deal! but sadly, i cant justify spending that much to my wife.

  • is the price correct? its gone up?
