Great Deal, midday (UK) is 11pm Sydney time. You would have to be very quick to bags one of these!

    • Didn't realise it was UK as the departure point, so not that great a deal after all (unless you live in the UK and browse Ozbargain)!

Don't forget to leave your noise-cancelling cans at home!

    • Why

      • Obviously you don't get the joke :D. Google will.i.am

This is London to Sydney right? Not Sydney to London so not really helpful for most people here.

    • -1

Yeah I'd hate to fly one way from Sydney to London or vice vera for $390. What a crap deal! face slap

      • Well you wouldn't be able to take that sydney to london flight if you hadn't taken the london to syd flight. The ticket would be cancelled. You'd still need to get to london first and one way fares are generally not that much cheaper than returns.

I thought a golden ticket meant a free tour?

  • Helpful if not very likely - due to the lack of tickets -for people with relatives in England.

    It's hot on ukhotdeals.com.

Will be more of a competition than a deal, as limited supply.

    Meh click bait.

    • +2

Exactly - sounds like those click frenzy deals where there's 3 TVs made of unobtainium being sold at 99 cents, and 10,000 people are all trying to buy it at once, and the server dies, and it generates a ton of clicks and even more annoyance.

  • Really Good Video From London - Sydney : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJP93u7n5Ok

They're doing the same thing from the US as well apparently:

    https://www.qantas.com/us/en/promotions/birthday-sale.html?i…

Would be good if they look after their local customer base as well…fingers crossed there are deals coming for those heading ex Aus on trips

    • Trying to build more brand awareness overseas. Every aussie already knows about qantas

  • Shouldn't this be a competition, not a deal? It's luck if you manage to get a ticket at that price.

    • Most of the best deals have required luck (as in they sell out quickly).

  • Can you book return but only take the 2nd flight (sydney to london flight)?

    • +1

Nope - if you don't take the first leg, the entire ticket is cancelled.

      • What if I only take the first leg and buying a one way to London before booking the return?

        • Sure thing. Not much the airline can do if you choose not to take the return. Some airlines have tried to sue but it hasn't worked out well for them.
