Mine failed after a couple of months, I've only used it about 10.times, stopped charging, really poor support from the store with exchanging for a new unit.

    • I would suggest to give another try with Gooloo Rep here by messaging them and I hope they would be able to address your concern.

Did we ever figure out whether it's safe to leave one of these in the car during summer? I recall some discussion on a previous deal, but I don't recall there being an answer.

    • I've had mine in the car for over a year now, only jump started 1 car so far but it worked fine, a Kia Carnival so a fairly big car without any issues

    • It comes with a large case which, if left under the seat/out of direct sunlight, keeps it reasonably cool.

Does the internal battery need to be constantly charged up like conventional jump starters?
Edit: Just read this - "Charge battery at least once every 3 months to avoid shortening its lifespan."
That seems reasonable, considering the boxy ones at Repco need to be constantly on a charger.

    • Mine has been at 80% (4/5 dots) since I bought it around a year ago and still has no trouble starting, so 3 months is probably an absolute worst case in bad conditions.

      • Yes, this is what I leave mine at, best to leave these around the 80% mark so it's enough to start a car, instead of 100% because they degrade quicker if charged and left at full.

Thanks, got one. These came at a perfect time since I was researching them the past few nights.

  • can this one charge a 65w rated laptop via usb-c port?

    • No. The 800A isn't even listed as supporting Power Delivery at all. The 2000A model supports PD15, there is another one that supports PD60 but it's been sold out/unavailable for a long time.

  • enough for a 2.5L V4 car?

    • Yes, easily

Decent unit imo - for the price… starts my ranger 2.2l no probs, started numerous other cars no probs, startes my lawn mower and generater no probs, haven't tried the tractor yet but as you can probs tell I've got alot of gear and no way will keep batteries in it all due to infrequent use, this is perfect for those items… haven't used as batt bank yet but think will be fine.. would buy again without hesitation…

edit: from memory this has 12v out which is also why I got it, think the bugger unit is 15v output, so this better for camping/12v (specific) devices, air pumps, lighting etc…

    • To confirm - you completely disconnect/remove the battery from your infrequently used vehicles and solely use this device to start them up?

Asking because I'm in the same boat, but I stuff around with battery tenders etc.

  • Started a Audi Q5 TFSI 2.0 (dead battery, left there for more than one year) without any problem.
Even jump start from another car could start the car.

    • Did you mean 'couldn't'?

  • Picked up one.

  • I've had one of these no-name Chinese jump starter things. Spec wise seemed awesome, real work usage was crappy though.

    The two main issues were:

    • The plug where you connect the jump leads into the battery box was really loose and would constantly fall out.

    • It was a multi-function unit that also had an air compressor, white torch, red and yellow strobe (with 2-3 patterns). There was a single 'on/off' button to operator all these functions, and it's really not intuitive to figure out how to press it a few times to cycle through to the function you want. i.e. you need to hold for the air compressor, but then the strobe comes on and blinds you, unsure how to just check the power level, etc. Very difficult to work out (even for a tech head like me).

Does this unit have these problems?

Then there is the question of battery longevity (both holding charge and battery quality), considering these devices might stay in your car for 2-3 years before you need to use it…

      Plugs in tightly

Buttons for different purposes. If you can read the instructions and have an IQ over 80 you will be set. (but push the power button, you will get the power level lights on)

Common sense - Top up charge periodically, doesn't take much effort, same as putting your phone on charger. If you are going to leave it for years then expect it to have your back when the time comes… You're asking for trouble.

Mines been reliable, paid for itself already in convenience.

    • Most of these new chargers don't have the on/off button for what you think it's for…

Think of the battery as always being on 'standby', whenever you plug a device in, it'll either power straight away or will require one push of the button no matter what port you use.

Even when I use one of these devices to jump start you can tell it's supplying power because of the green light on the jumper cable regulator, don't even have to press the on/off button.

Most common use of the on/off button is to turn on the light and check the charge

  • Enough for a motorcycle?

      Plenty

  • I have put it in my cart and then enter code under "cosse a payment method" and then it tells me under where I put in code that I successfully applied the promotional code but the price doesn't change???? Am I doing something wrong?

This one has a Lightning Deal on it at the moment, brings it down another $20 to $59.19.

    • code is not working with lightning deal

      • It was when I posted the comment. I notice now the code is no longer mentioned on the product page so suspect the code ended after I posted. Lightning deal also ended now. I hope others also had the chance to buy at $59.19.
