Definitely have the "primo" price tag… Good luck with that convincing…

    • I'll just get her drunk first LOL

  • Interesting, I've owned a Kamado Joe classic for around 5 years and was shocked when i saw the price of the primo's on this link.

So I went and had a look at the Kamado Joe's here https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/sale/red-hot-christmas-sa… and was similarly surprised when I saw the cost.

I'm sure mine with a stand cost around 1k, and that I've seen similar sized ones for around 800ish. Something like this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XXL-Kamado-BBQ-Grill-Smoker-Low-… using cashrewards 10% or whatever it is might end up a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the coupon, maybe the quality of the Primo's are a lot better.

    Cheers.

    • difference in quality/accessories and warranty between brands like Primo/KJ and the 'generics' like your ebay link or bunnings equivalents

all same principle and all can spit out quality bbq, but there are differences (up to buyer as to whether they are worth the $ difference… KJ Classic 2 owner myself)

I've owned both Primo and Kamado Joe. Primo hasn't changed their design for a very long time while Kamado Joe are always innovating in their design and accessories. Check out the 3rd Gen Kamado Joe's.

While the Primo looks nice and still functions well as a kamado, its very dated. Still using felt for the gasket, the hinge is flimsy and cheap. In terms of accessories, not much has been added over the years (no divide and conquer system, no rotisserie attachment etc). Aftermarket accessories are hard to come by too since the shape is oval.

    • Joe is made in China Primo in the US I know which one I would buy.

  • Wow $1750 for the Kamado when the Pit Boss at Bunnings is only $950 (5 year warranty) and if you want to slum it the Chargriller Kamado is $549.
