BBQing is pretty simple….adding wifi, digitisation etc just adds more weak points in the chain which will inevitably break.
Yep, and 3 star review. People complaining the auto ignite doesnt work.
Straight up BBQ yes, but smoking is different. People looking at this don't want don't want to watch an offset for 12+ hours
check out inkbird wirelss thermomoter range…having extra modcom gadgets incorprared in the actual bbq is asking for trouble, unless its a rolls royce make and model with the appropriate price tag, warranty and customer support commitments
Having a wireless thermometer doesn't make a smoker automated.
@QuickToThePointless: I still don't get your point, you suggested looking at wireless thermometers… That doesn't make the smoker/BBQ/griller somewhat automatic. All a thermometer does is tell you to get off your ass and do something about the fire or food.
You can call most of the grills out there a "hybrid"
Kamado Joe does everything
Webber kettle or smokey mountain does everything
Heck even a pellet grill does everything
This or the pellet Pit Boss Lexington Onyx at Bunnings with gift cards to bring it down to 500?
Depends what you're using it for ?
Had a quick read about these,
Quite interesting, it is actually more of an all rounder bbq and smoker.
So it can grill decently and impart some smoke flavour, not the charcoal meets fat flavour (as the charcoals are not directly under the grill)
As a smoker, it works relatively well also it just isn't a full functioning dedicated smoker. (The hopper is small and doesn't have a shut off plate/slide for airflow)
Most people have written it is good for general grilling, bbq'n and smoking .
Sounds like a jack of all, master of none.. which is actually pretty good in certain situations. having a dedicated bbq and a smoker takes up a lot of room especially if you don't do a heap of either.
Edit: To note,
it is also on $499 Ebay can apply some codes but pay for shipping or C/C
It is also on $499 MYdeal, can apply some codes as well but pay for shippingYou also don't get the cover in those options (which BBQ galore includes) maybe if you ask?
Pretty good price.
