Fastway courier delivery quality

I have recently paid for the Xiaomi M365 from Shopro website and after the discount it is $508. Shoppro claimed that their warehouse is at Mulgrave (Melbourne suburb) and given that I also live near by (~12KM), I made my purchasing decision also based on that as I want to gift it to someone for birthday.

On the 13th of Nov, they sent me the tracking number 1 day after purchase. As I was not able to track on AusPost, they sent me a link to FastWay.com.au. Out of curiosity, I googled FastWay have seen this page below:

https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/fastway

After a couple days more seeing the package status always stucks at "Delayed", I contacted fastway via phone and patiently waited for 20min until I got a real person. Well, as expected, it did not help! I asked for an ETA, the person had no idea, I offered to pick it up myself, the person said she did not know where the package is! I mean is it crazy? She said I will need to wait for 2 business days. Now, 5 business days later the status is still "Delayed".

Okay, what's interesting is that in between these days, I have contacted both Fastway and Shopro via their web page, below is the exact responses from the 2 companies:

From FastWay:
"hi, please let us to know the parcel. we don't have received any update from our parcel status, regards debby"

From Shopro:
"hi, sorry about that! we still waiting for fastway reply, we will get back to you today, regards debby"

Now it looks like fastway is just forwarding shopros enquiry back to me, or it could be run by the same person? I will leave you to decide.

I have started a dispute in PayPal already, as I have lost all my confidence that the package will be delivered. Shopro, if you are reading this, please cut of your ties with this dodgy company or provide local pickup option. To ozbargainer, please make sure which courier these eshops are using. Do not buy anything shipped by FastWay, it's too much trouble that outweighs the discounts you get.

=====
Just an update on this issue:

  • called Fastway again, different person answered and she is very helpful although the package was lost. I asked to send me an email for evidence and she promptly did it on the phone.

  • called Shopro, they said happy for me to pick it up in the warehouse.

I have edited the heading and I think it maybe due to bad luck and initially I was spooked by all the negative reviews. I will leave the rest of contents unedited for you to decide.

In this case I am happy with shopro on how they handled it. The only issue is the response they provide may be slow and brief. I suppose phone calls are better solutions.

I think the best way in this case is persistent with calls. Do not use email.

=====
Another update, I have arranged and picked up the scooter, people at Shopro are pretty friendly. Had a casual chat and found out that they have recently been losing quite a few items with the courier. They currently do not provide a pick up or alternative courier option. However you can call them up right after the purchase and arrange pick ups.

=====
Another update, the seller forwarded me an email that Fastway sent them the “evidence” that the package has actually been delivered. It’s a photo of the packaged left at my front door. And as expected it is a photo with the package left at A front door, just not mine.

2 points here:

  1. This is a stupid mistake, as the street is very easy to find and I have very clear street number in front of my house. You cannot miss it. The photo shows a front door I do not recognise. It’s not even on my street!!!

  2. The package would have come with my address, whoever got it for more than a week now. Whoever got it did not bother to contact me at all.

I had similar experience from Fastway ordered a jacket from AMAZON took them 7 business days to come from Melbourne to Sydney Metro I have cancelled my order with amazon since item did not arrive even 3 days later than there estimated delivery time and 2 days later got a call from the driver wanting to make delivery and I asked him to take it back as I have already cancelled the purchase.

Fastway staff were not helpful and were unable to track the item.

  • I have claimed from fastway insurance, they will made you crazy to claim your money; over 4 months and email, call over 20 times.

Fastway is horrible I don't know why any seller use them. Maybe because its cheap. Who knows. But its the worst courier service ever. I never had lost item but in my experience its either slow or they just left the card on your mailbox without actually knocking on the door. Funnily enough, a neighbour few houses down the road is a Fastway courier…..

  • Literally 12 minutes ago, fastway just failed to delivery a set of headphones. I've been sitting at the front of the office facing the door waiting and refreshing the amazon tracking page. Nobody came to the door, and just now the tracking says:

    Fastway couldn't deliver your package
Please contact Fastway to get your package back on track.
    Was expected Saturday

They are the absolute worst. I've purchased stuff from great online companies who are presumably saving a buck by using them, but that is a terrible business decision on their part.

They will not knock. If you aren't standing at the door waiting, you'll need to go pick it up yourself from the depot.

  • I also bought a product from a very good vendor but delivery was via Fastway. My family is home all the time. Delivery guy never showed up and marked my delivery as missed delivery. Same happened on re-delivery and next delivery was scheduled after 4-5 days, it pissed me off!!

On same day, I ended up contacting CFO of Global Fastway (its a multi natinal company) and CEO Australia via LinkedIn. My delivery was made on priority next day :P~

Ordered 3 things from amazon au. They got delivered within 2 days with a knock on my door at about 7pm (3 separate occasions). The only other delivery company to deliver outside of business hours (when i'm actually home) was fedex. Worked well for me.

I’ve only had absolutely terrible experiences with fastway. Equally as bad as Couriers Please. I’ve got CCTV of them throwing my packages, I’ve had to pick up my packages at the depot more often than not, and they never ring the door bell.

  • My Fastway guy is great, so I guess it depends upon the Franchisee in your area.
You can find the mobile phone number of your local guy on the fastway website.

  • Fastway is absolute shit

  • MY Fastway person is good.

The wife buys stuff online once a month from company that use Fastway and never been a problem, the last time she got something as a gift for someone but had to use her name with the other persons address and the Fastway guy called her mobile to check that it was the right address as he new the name and the address was different from usual.

Then he took a photo of it on the doorstep and sent it to my wife.

  • Worst company ever. I had a package that was delivered but wasn't at home so they put it at the depot. I tried to call them, no answer. Decided to redirect to another address where somebody will be home. This is through calling the sender and they confirm fastway says OK. I wait around for another couple of weeks, with tracking saying onboard for delivery. 1 Month after initial failed delivery fastway comes to my apartment not the redirected address to deliver. Lucky I even answered as I usually never answer the door unless I'm expecting something. I was just bored home sick so decided to see who wants to see me. This happened in dec 2018, this company is a joke and I hope to never get them to deliver anything to me ever again.

  • I've got a message to expect a delivery on Friday and now Monday evening, there's still no delivery. Tracked my package on Amazon website showed it has been 'Out for Delivery' by Fastway since Friday, but no further update.

  • I had them throw a fragile marked package with a hard drive over the fence at my house, damaging the front door where it hit the frame and smashing the contents of the package. I was standing at the front of the house watching the package fly through the air at the house. The animal fastay driver didn't even stop was back in his truck and gone before I could hang up the phone and unlock the front door to scream at the animal. Brunswick West driver. both are as bad as each other, other done left package in the rain on the front lawn. I did formalise a complaint, I didn't get any result or even any follow ups to multiple calls and emails. I do not deal with shopping express who only uses these animals as a result. This happenend this year.

  • Just complained to AmazonAU chat today about fastway (not first time)
They leave items in an apartment complex at front lobby (once not even INSIDE)
With no effort to find my door or knock, when I am home

Amazon told me they have launched an investigation into Fastway

  • AusPost is probably the most reliable, had problems with Fastway before, they would say no one is home and basically not even attempt delivery even though someone was home.

  • When/if I find out a supplier uses Fastway, I don’t bother buying from them. The clowns at Fastway always lose or delay packages - they are hopeless.

A lot of people are saying that it varies depending on the contractor, but my god they are definitely the worst from what I've seen.

I've never had a proper delivery with fastway. Here are the problems I've had with mine, and it seems to just keep getting worse.

Initially i noticed they wouldn't ever bother knocking on my door, just popped a "we missed you card" straight into the mail box.

Then it got a bit worse, they wouldn't even bother putting the card in my mail box and seemingly just dumped it at a collection spot, the only reason i figured it out is because they send an email out.

A few days ago I was told a parcel was delivered, but I happen to be home all day that day. Popped outside and couldn't find my parcel anywhere so I've sent an email, still waiting for them to get back to me. I looked up to see if anyone had similar problems, and came across this gem:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlgixOnJ81U

The fastway courier obviously thought it was OK because he then took a photo of it 😂

On a side note, I don't know about everyone else but I've got a bunch of items banked up waiting for fastway to pick them up (since Thursday last week) after I purchased a bunch of stuff from amazon US. Had I known they would use fastway instead of the regular auspost, maybe I would've thought twice about buying them…

Just last week purchased a CPU off a private seller on eBay, it was listed as being posted through Aus Post (and charging $15 for the privilege of it when others are only charging ~$9 or so for) but then asked him about just buying it instead of the auction, came back with a relatively decent price then he posted it and ended up being Fastway. Went from estimated delivery being today to now being 23/12.. which I know sure as hell won’t happen.

Pretty p***ed off at the seller for pulling that crap, paying $15 for delivery for it to be sent by Fastway. AP would have been not only cheaper but also much better/quicker!

    • I feel for you, sometimes sellers use Fastway for convenience. The seller I used use them cause they are next door. VAC should shut them down.

      • Yeah from the tracking they attempted to picked it up from him on the Sunday, weirdly enough, got picked up the next day as he mustn’t have been home when they tried to collect it.

Wouldn’t have minded if he couldn’t have posted it till late this week with AP, would have much preferred that over it going with Fastway.

Who knows, they could surprise me, but any other delivery I’ve had from them has been slow as. So I won’t expect it before Christmas.

Apologies on bringing up an old topic but I needed to vent.

Fastway are absolutely horrible. I used to think that Auspost was lazy, but Fastway take it to another level.

I've had 3 packages from Amazon which were returned to depot for the following reasons:

    1. Nobody home: they attempted to deliver at 11am. The delivery was to my work address which has a manned reception area from 9-5. I asked the receptionist who told me that nobody had come in. Complained and they redelivered the following day

    2. Nobody home (again). Delivery was attempted at 12.30. Receptionist was there again and in addition I was sitting at a desk nearby the front door. No delivery was attempted. Complained again and they delivered it 2 days later

    3. 'Address is wrong'. This is the same address as the other 2 deliveries! The same address that gets mail every day of the week. I have complained and been told that it will be delivered within 2-3 business days

What the f*k is wrong with this company? I thought I might just have a lazy courier who services my area but looking at others experiences it seems like the problem is systemic.

Surely Amazon won't put up with this shit for long?

  • I have just had a delayed delivery. Item received in Aus on the 12th, recorded in Fastway systems on the 12th or the 13th. Still nothing by the 16th, logged a where is my item, on the 12th or 13th, 2 days to get a reply, nothing via FB or chat, rang on Thursday 16th after about 15 min (conservative estimate) i talk to someone, they agree that itbis not good the delay, put in a request to deliver. Nothing much updated in transit record, later its marked on truck today 18th Saturday about 8:40am, nothing at 11am. 12:30pm i get a notify of delivery. Get home a bit after 1pm, nothing on front door step, wife gets out of the car and looks over the fence on the groun infront of the letter box is the parcel, small enough to go in the letter box. It has been raining. Lucky the package is plastic, get an email back saying the item is delivered, from where is my item report.
