Fastway courier delivery quality

I have recently paid for the Xiaomi M365 from Shopro website and after the discount it is $508. Shoppro claimed that their warehouse is at Mulgrave (Melbourne suburb) and given that I also live near by (~12KM), I made my purchasing decision also based on that as I want to gift it to someone for birthday.

On the 13th of Nov, they sent me the tracking number 1 day after purchase. As I was not able to track on AusPost, they sent me a link to FastWay.com.au. Out of curiosity, I googled FastWay have seen this page below:

https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/fastway

After a couple days more seeing the package status always stucks at "Delayed", I contacted fastway via phone and patiently waited for 20min until I got a real person. Well, as expected, it did not help! I asked for an ETA, the person had no idea, I offered to pick it up myself, the person said she did not know where the package is! I mean is it crazy? She said I will need to wait for 2 business days. Now, 5 business days later the status is still "Delayed".

Okay, what's interesting is that in between these days, I have contacted both Fastway and Shopro via their web page, below is the exact responses from the 2 companies:

From FastWay:
"hi, please let us to know the parcel. we don't have received any update from our parcel status, regards debby"

From Shopro:
"hi, sorry about that! we still waiting for fastway reply, we will get back to you today, regards debby"

Now it looks like fastway is just forwarding shopros enquiry back to me, or it could be run by the same person? I will leave you to decide.

I have started a dispute in PayPal already, as I have lost all my confidence that the package will be delivered. Shopro, if you are reading this, please cut of your ties with this dodgy company or provide local pickup option. To ozbargainer, please make sure which courier these eshops are using. Do not buy anything shipped by FastWay, it's too much trouble that outweighs the discounts you get.

=====
Just an update on this issue:

  • called Fastway again, different person answered and she is very helpful although the package was lost. I asked to send me an email for evidence and she promptly did it on the phone.

  • called Shopro, they said happy for me to pick it up in the warehouse.

I have edited the heading and I think it maybe due to bad luck and initially I was spooked by all the negative reviews. I will leave the rest of contents unedited for you to decide.

In this case I am happy with shopro on how they handled it. The only issue is the response they provide may be slow and brief. I suppose phone calls are better solutions.

I think the best way in this case is persistent with calls. Do not use email.

=====
Another update, I have arranged and picked up the scooter, people at Shopro are pretty friendly. Had a casual chat and found out that they have recently been losing quite a few items with the courier. They currently do not provide a pick up or alternative courier option. However you can call them up right after the purchase and arrange pick ups.

=====
Another update, the seller forwarded me an email that Fastway sent them the “evidence” that the package has actually been delivered. It’s a photo of the packaged left at my front door. And as expected it is a photo with the package left at A front door, just not mine.

2 points here:

  1. This is a stupid mistake, as the street is very easy to find and I have very clear street number in front of my house. You cannot miss it. The photo shows a front door I do not recognise. It’s not even on my street!!!

  2. The package would have come with my address, whoever got it for more than a week now. Whoever got it did not bother to contact me at all.

I have had multiple bad experiences from Fastway. I believe it boils down to the drivers being franchisee's and you get various levels of service.

One time my package was DUMPED on my neighbours front lawn 5 houses up and across the street. WTF! I didnt even give them authority to leave unattended.

Another time I had a package say "delivered" but it never was, and when I chased up it was "lost". I assumed this meant "stolen".

Another time the same driver left a package sitting open on my porch when there's clearly spots to at least hide it behind a pillar with 1 second of additional effort like every other courier driver manages to do at my house.

Generally their delivery times is also slow even when it says "onboard for delivery" it can be 2-3 more days in my experience even when tracking shows it in my area.

I have complained to their head office a few times but never get a response.

In summary Fastway are terrible and I avoid them from now on. I have actually asked a few online stores for alternatives and explained why.

    • +5

I believe it's ALL about the drivers, too. I choose Fastway over any other courier option because our local guy is super-fantastic. He's friendly, courteous, patient and never just dumps a parcel or a "sorry I missed you" card. And he has to come down a 30 meter driveway to get to the door!

      • +4

Yeah I’m sure their model is the drivers or at least the vans are individual franchises. So pretty sure this is why complaining does nothing and everyone gets such various levels of service.

        • All the drivers are contractors. If you get stuck with a bad one in your area you are screwed. I've had nothing but horrible experience with them in my area so I make sure to put a note on all my orders which says "DO NOT USE FASTWAY". I guess in the future I will be putting "DO NOT USE FASTWAY/ARAMEX" (which is Fastway's lame attempt at distancing themselves from their current reputation). Aramex is just as bad though: https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.aramex.com

          • @Meeb: Fastway got bought by Aramex, though a new parent company does not make individual contractors/franchises any better.

  • +1

I also just had a horrible experience with them, received the tracking number on the 11th and it was delivered 10 days after, that's from Sydney to Brisbane. AusPost can do better than that.
Not just that, when it actually arrived in Brisbane I got the lovely "Undeliverable Awaiting Response" tracking message… What do you mean??? I was home and the front door was open.
Gave them a call, the rep was very confused but I received it the following day, well yesterday. It had a big lovely "PRIORITY" sticker on it from them.

TLDR: Slow delivery, limited tracking, skipped my delivery(?), called them and received priority delivery for the next business day.

    • +4

"Undeliverable awaiting response" is how they blow off scheduled deliveries. I'll wager they never even came to your street.

      • I don't actually think they did, never saw any Fastway courier car.
Around the time of the update, I was actually out the front on the veranda too.
The parcel did come but I actually had to call them regarding that. I bet if I didn't call I would have never seen it haha

        • Mine keeps saying out of time to deliver. That was last week. What does that even mean? Are they too busy smoking something?

          • @[Deactivated]: It's meant to mean that it is being delivered on the date of receiving that tracking detail but who knows with Fastway (assuming you mean "out for delivery with driver")
The last tracking event before signing for it was "Onboard"
            Call Fastway - Sydney Number is (02) 8349 5994

My experience with them. In the end we told the people we get wine off we would cancel our membership rather than have to deal with Fastway. Instead we all agreed will pick up our wine from Geelong.

  • +28

Isn't in common knowledge to avoid Fastway if at all possible?

  • +6

My problem is not being able to determine which courier company a seller uses.
I agree that there are some bad couriers, and I would happily avoid some sellers (if I was able to determine the courier they use).

    • +1

I've made it a point to ask sellers who they use if there's any indication that a courier will be used.

  • +12

Fastway is garbage. I always put "DO NOT USE FASTWAY" on online orders.

    • +1

Good idea! I've only done it for Amazon after many failed deliveries.

      • +1

Just be sure to update it to "DO NOT USE FASTWAY/ARAMEX" (Fastway is rebranding).

    • That's a good idea, never thought of that tbh.

    • That won't always achieve anything as stores are normally contracted to a certain delivery company to get the best rates.

      • Then just change it to "IF YOU USE FASTWAY/ARAMEX THEN PLEASE CANCEL MY ORDER". Or vote with your wallet and never buy from them again. Either works.

  • Fastway has lots of complaints……. but for me, they have been fine.

    • +1

Comes down to your local contractor. The one in my area sucks.

  • +5

Fastway the biggest oxymoron in australia, propably why they are changing their name.

Amazon started using them, they never ever delivered to the address, always to some pickup collection which they call a Parcel connect.
Happened 3 times in a row. Amazon apologised, but still use them.

    • When Amazon first started officially in Oz, I always get parcels delivered from Fastway. I reckoned the level of service I get back then wasn't too bad. But over the time, Amazon slowly transitioned over to AusPost/ Toll (for bigger items).

  • -2

Customer- wants the cheapest price and will complain if delivery is late
Vendor- offers the cheapest price and hence needs to use the cheapest postage service.

    You give them no choice
You can’t complain about this to the vendor when the vendor is literally making a tiny margin on a $700 product.

I agree Fastway may be one of the worst couriers in Aus, but we sometimes use them, and I can say that it is still rare we have issues or customer complaints. They do well the vast majority of the time.

Sorry for the rant, but as a seller, I get frustrated by the fact you have opened a dispute

    • Sorry for the rant, but as a seller, I get frustrated by the fact you have opened a dispute

Seems to be the first point of call these days, open a dispute get your money back.

Not sure why, the OPs product has been dispatched, has a tracking numbers, knows what the hold up is. The seller is trying to work with them, but the OP just craps all over them by doing this.

Another one that wants the product and a refund it seems.

Anyhow, on a different note but related to crappy buyers, I had some feedback for an order on ebay the other day for an item I sold, something like great product, shipping time bit slow.

Hmm that is a bit strange, as I ship all orders the following morning after payment. So I checked into this order and its tracking, and it went like this

Day 1 - 5.40pm purchased product, payment received.
Day 2 - ~9am product lodged over the counter at auspost.
      Day 3 - delivered around 10am

WTF Man? How fast do you want shipping to be!!!

      TL;DR buyers are strange.

      • +1

I think you didn’t read my post. It’s the 9th business day. I do try contact the seller but there has been very limited responses and offers no help.

By limited I mean it’s with Fastway we don’t know.

        • -3

I read your post, as I said above

Not sure why, the OPs product has been dispatched, has a tracking numbers, knows what the hold up is. The seller is trying to work with them, but the OP just craps all over them by doing this.

Your item has been shipped, the seller is TRYING to get fastway to find it etc. By you opening a case with paypal, all you have done is piss the seller off who is trying to help you.

So when you get your money back via paypal, will you be refusing delivery when fastway delivers it?

Thank you for the neg love btw, love you too.

          • +3

@JimmyF: The seller decided to use Fastway in the first place. A glance at Product review, or any of the online review places, would have shown the seller how poor the service is. Expecting someone to “hang in there” because the seller says they are sorting it out with Fastway is a bit rich. As we know the faster you open a dispute the more likely you are to get your money back, if things drag on eBay and PayPal get more evasive. If Fastway, subsequently, did try to deliver, a fairly big “if”, then, personally, I would refuse delivery and Fastway can sort our how the seller gets it back. Expecting the purchaser to hang in there for extended periods of time is just poor customer service. Give the purchaser the option and tell them to look up Fastways reputation before accepting that option. So what period of time do you think it is acceptable to have to wait? weeks, months, decades.

Your last comment is plain abusive; it reinforces the understanding we have on how you view customer service. Can you put this down against each neg you get on eBay? It always helps the buyer to know who they are dealing with.

      • +2

The buyer is paying for a good, and for that good to be delivered. Who or how the seller ships this to the buyer is normally completely out of the buyers control. The courier is a contractor working for the seller.

If a manufacturer ships bad food to woolworths - I complain to woolworths.
If a sweatshop ships bad shoes to nike - I complain to nike.
If your (bad) online store chooses a (bad) courier - I complain to you.

They're your subcontrator, you're paying them, sort your own shit out and dont pass the responsability onto the buyer. They've paid for a service so give it to them.

(ps Fastway like to pretend my apartment building doesnt exist, EVERY package from them requires me convincing them to deliver)

    • +3

Give me the choice and I will pay extra not to use Fastway. If the seller tells me, upfront, they are using Fastway then I can go elsewhere. They are appalling at delivery, as I indicated in my reference post above, the guy didn’t even try to deliver. I heard him put the card in the letter box, because my door was ajar; the bell is next to the letterbox so he didn’t even try to ring it. If you do happen to be out the depot is in Port Melbourne and the place is incredibly disorganised. Takes ages for them to find your package. With Australia Post, I can use parcel locker and the drop off point is less than a 5 minute stroll away. Not all buyers are after the cheapest option but poor delivery service reflects badly on the seller. If I know you only use Fastway you, generally, aren’t getting my custom You may not be getting complaints, you may just not be getting repeat purchases. You chose the courier, and you know they are crap, so why are you annoyed the person is opening a dispute? You say you don’t get many complaints then complain about people disputing? Huh?

      • yeah I do the same, except it is Couriers please that I make damn sure isn't shipping anything for me as those pricks have never once delivered, always get the card and then days before it is available at the pickup point despite always someone home. I think pretty much any of the couriers can be shite, just depends on their local contracters.

    • +2

I agree with you sentiment. But the seller should offer customers choices to pick up or use alternative couriers. The fact on the sellers website that it is using the auspost and using another courier famous for delays is unacceptable. Do not advertise free shipping and advertise real price and allow customer to choose deliver methods and I would have paid MORE. Another issue is the response time, I do not believe a one liner blaming courier after couple days when a question is raise is acceptable.

      TLDR:
      Offer deliver options
Seller do not respond to questions unless dispute is raised.

      • The fact on the sellers website that it is using the auspost and using another courier famous for delays is unacceptable.

Absolutely this. Even if the package arrived on time, if they days auspost and used fastway, I'd still neg just for the prolonged stress from the moment I saw the fastway notification until the package arrived.

    • +2

To be fair, the customer purchased a product which included delivery.
Therefore, a complaint about part of that purchase seems reasonable to me. Doesn't matter how great the product is if the delivery component is rubbish.

As others have said, as a consumer I would be more likely to make informed decisions around purchasing, or cost variances, if I were provided with delivery information and options.

  • +2

Yeah the absolute worst service company I've had the chance to interact with.

Their re-delivery form is a farce because nobody reads them. Twice now I used it and neither the depot nor the drivers actually follows the preferred date and time. Called up their helpline, have no idea about the redelivery and then arranged for a new time. During that day driver didn't turn up. Won't even deliver to the post office or an eparcel location.

  • If i could get Fastway to deliver everything i get to me i would, Guarranted delivery by lovely lady at around 7:30am every time, has a chat pats the dog lol. I ask and always try and use them if can.

    • May I ask where are you located?

      • Coffs Harbour NSW

    • Same! I’ve so far not have any issues with fastway and love it how they usually deliver to my area before 8am. The only thing I don’t like about them is they don’t tell you what service it is on their tracking. Some stuff arrives in 2-3days while other takes 5 business days. I’m located at Camden Park, SA.

  • Fastway in NZ is great; always overnight delivery even between islands

In Australia - absolutely shocking and slow delivery at the best of times

  • Generally, I've found courier companies across the board to be roundly CRAP in delivering to individuals/houses. It is clear they only want to deal with office receptions/loading docks where they can be in and out.

For this reason I'll now basically not buy items from shops where it is a courier service. Just send it registered mail (or whatever) to my PO Box and I'll get it from there.

  • +2

Fastway delivery is the worst i had the worst experience with them for me.They didn't even ring the door bell even those the package said do not leave it un attended has to be sign but they decide to leave it by the door with clear view of everything luckily i was home and watching them on my home camera 😂

  • +4

I would pay more to avoid fastway. Thank goodness I don't receive stuff from them often. I had a fastway parcel last week, the first in several months - and of course it went wrong. Took 7 days to get a parcel redelivered, and a complete nightmare. At one stage they were asking me what the parcel looked like! Hopeless.

  • +1

Fastway is bad, but Hunter Express is worse. Overnight delivery of refrigerated goods packed with ice packs ended up taking 10 calendar days and the product was ruined. One consignment with two boxes, overnight delivery, first box arrives after four days, the second one on day six. Overnight delivery scheduled for 20 December not arriving until 7 January. Every shipment is always covered in fine dust and the packages are beaten up, like they spent a few hours in a cement mixer. Their call centre staff vary between completely apathetic to very helpful, but unable to actually help due to their internal systems.

  • +3

Fastway is terrible. I've had delivery drivers straight up message me that they'll take the package directly to a collection point instead of actually delivering it.

  • -1

Not trying to be a contrarian but the times I've been "forced" to use them they've never been bad, always come early and deliver prompt. Definitely has to do with the franchisee's.

  • +2

Had nothing but problems with Fastway. Including being forced to pay them extra for shipping when they have screwed up by trying to deliver to an office building at night when no one would be there, and notes on the shipping for the delivery driver clearly stated this and was printed on the label.

Who tries to deliver to a large office building at night? After hearing nothing and chasing my package for days I eventually just get flicked to the driver's mobile number (what?!) and have to deal with some guy who clearly doesn't want to speak to me. After multiple calls to the main number to try and sort this I had to pay 4x the original postage for them to deliver again in the day "when he can". Took about 2 weeks to get a Sydney metro to Sydney metro package.

If i find any seller is using Fastway i will not buy from them no matter how cheap the product is.

  • For me fastway is scamway. Last time amazon used them, i basically have to ring the company twice to g eet it delivered and telling them that if i don't get my parcel the next business day before 9 in the morning i will let them deal with amazon as i m about to ask a refund. Nonetheless to say they obliged. So everytime i see fastway, i just avoid buying and ask for a refund if i did.

  • +1

Worst courier ever, I boycott se)er who use them.took 7 days from Mel to Sydney then on hold for delivery for 2 days , and suddenly turn up card left on the public area, ask for pick up from depot and it is 2 days and numious calls still can't pick up the parcel.

  • +1

Don't even get me started with this useless courier company. After multiple complaints, due to Amazon orders constantly being left without regard anywhere. To date things such as the Fortnite PS4 Pro bundle just randomly left outside a building, to other smaller items just being delayed and eventually being found and carelessly left anywhere and everywhere as well. The funny thing is after most of my complaint calls, the delayed items would be found usually within a hour or two and be delivered just not to my actual address. So annoying. I'm noy suprised about their name change due to the bad reputation they have.

  • +1

They are the real life Swift and Shift couriers.

    • That's true, I'm starting to think the show is actually based on them lol

  • -2

Yes from looking at those reviews re Fastway delivery it is very scary. Lucky for me , for my case is different instead they have my 5 stars recommendations. Few days ago I ordered 2 boxes of wines from Justwines . They used Fastway. Funny thing was Fastway picked the boxes in different packages . As promised the first box arrived one day earlier and the second one arrived exactly on time. The tracking details provided were excellent.Yes they just left the boxes outside in front of our main door ,without bothering knocking at my door though I was at home. Who cares if the products arrived safely.

  • fastaway/fail, fail, fail, they make aussie post look the goods

  • +1

Fastway are by far the worst delivery service company in OZ. I’ve lost multiple items sent from the east coast over the years. The seem to lack any internal tracking of parcels, leading to an increased level of theft by their delivery contractors.

In all instances I had no choice in the shipping method, as the supplier/vendor used them exclusively.

Have had 1000’s of parcels delivered by Australia post, TNT, and StarTrack Express without any issues during the same period.

  • They used to be very fast and reliable, unlike Star Trak where your stuff disapears for a week or so and Australia post (who own star Trak) who's express post used to be next day, even from different states, but now takes 2-3 days even in the same state.

But recently, I had a strange issue with fastway where I had 2 identical items, but only one was delivered. I was worried as my friend signed for it, and it said box 2 of 2. 30 minutes waiting to talk to someone, they assured me it hadn't been delivered, but couldn't explain or even confirm why I had received one box….. Fortunately the other came a few days later.

As always, we end up paying more for a worse service

  • I've stopped doing business with online stores that use Fastway, the last package from Melbourne to Perth took almost 3 weeks and to top it off the driver was extremely rude.

  • Fastway sucks

We ordered something from amazon australia and the wife was home with the front wooden door open and they just left it on the front doorstep and didn't even try to knock or even ring the doorbell

    Bloody hopeless

  • Delivered my package to a neighbour yesterday. Reading numbers is hard.

Would consider them the worst of all couriers.

  • +1

Sounds like Startrack. If I see a vendor using Startrack I will look elsewhere.

  • I purchased someone from Banggood Australian warehouse on the 11.11 sales. It only had one generic shopping option, then afterwards got a tracking number and found out its via fastway. ha! I dont even know if I will get the expensive item now. Banggood website states 5 to 7 business day delivery Im on day 9 (business days.
but my case is weird, earlier in the week I asked Fastway why tracking hasnt advanced beyond consignment note sent. Fastway says they received the paper work but it isnt confirmed that they are the last mile courier.. Banggood says item is not tracked & I should have opt'ed for tracked postage which on the website is only one option for shipping which is definitely tracked. lucky I have paypal & bank to fall back on if anything goes wrong.. I guess I should give them another 2 weeks but in imbo at the moment.. unsure if postage is lost. if I originally knew if it was coming via fastway I would have sent the package to my house since my fastway guy is awesome delivering at 7:30pm. I sent it to my parent house a suburb across which uses a different guy that I dont have experience with. hmm fingers crossed, even though some part of me thinks its already lost.

  • +1

Fastway is basically what is wrong with the franchise system. The master franchiser will sell a franchise to anyone with money then not care about it. Then something will happen and the whole thing goes bust.

  • -2

I have never had any problem with Fastway, or most other couriers for that matter.
The only courier company that I can guarantee that I will always have problems with is Couriers Please (I think their full name should be Couriers Please Deliver My F@#&ing Parcel). Every single time I'm expecting a parcel through them, I know that there will be nothing but problems.

  • Reading all these comments it seems like consistency is a huge weak point in our courier services.

  • Fastway are the reason why I'll happily pay more to buy things on Ebay than Amazon, and why I don't have Amazon Prime (unless it's an amazing deal).

There's a reason they have a 1.1* rating on google.

Out of 9 packages I've had delivered through them, 2 were lost with no refund, 5 were very late and required chasing up, 2 were on time (but all 7 which I actually received, I had to collect from the local news agents, because apparently nobody was home, at my office, during business hours).

Apparently they're a scam and this is how they make their money: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpqYirnBUCU

If ever an idiot on ebay surprises me by using fastway, they get a negative review from me.

Note: I have over 100 packages delivered / year, and only fastway are this bad.

  • +5

i have been courier and still am for 16 year
used to work for couriers please fastway aussie post tnt and dhl
out of your cheap price couriers fastway is by far the worst and you would know why if you would be able to get to their depot and observe the way they work and handle the freight
best cheap option in my opinion would be couriers please
on the other end DHL is by far the best
Like other people said you get what you pay for

    • Couriers Please was rather appalling for two of our deliveries. After two days of being out for delivery I contacted them and the driver claimed we had a fence and gate which they couldn't get through to deliver, but we don't have a fence or gate. The second one took 3 weeks to arrive.

Couriers Please are better than Fastway though, they had our Projector marked as out for delivery for 7 days. On the second, third, and fourth day they kept saying they would turn up and didn't. Saw their van down at the yacht club at 2pm on the fourth day with my package visible from the outside, which was finally delivered 3 days later. Our current Fastway package has been in the Perth sorting depot waiting for sorting since 11am on the 20th.

  • +1

I hate fastway. They forged my signature so they could drop a package at my door. It's happened more than once.

I've had packages simply not delivered and I've had to fix the situation.

I'll never pick fastway if I get a choice when it comes to getting my packages. If a company mentions that's all they'll use I avoid at all cost.

If a company offers different delivery companies I'll pick another even if fastway is cheaper. It's not worth the headache.

  • +2

my local fastway are the worst, they never attempt delivery and the package ends up at local newsagency.
But it's ok, I complain to Amazon and I get a $10 voucher each time it happens :)

    • Must remember that little trick.

  • -4

The downside of buying over the internet.
It's a risk the customer decides to save money instead of supporting local bricks and mortar.
Of course, as one other poster already mentioned, customer wants best price, then wants it real fast, then complains in public when not delivered promptly. It's the sellers fault, it's the couriers fault, it's everyone's fault but mine!!!

    • +1

It is only the buyers fault if they are given a choice of courier and select Fastway themselves. The only way that people tend to get any service is to complain in public, otherwise a lot of online places will just fob them off. Personally, when I can, I do try to buy from Bricks and Mortar because of some poor delivery service experiences online. I'm quite happy to pay a few more bucks for a good purchasing experience than a poor one. The problem I have is when I'm not given the choice. I don't need my stuff delivered "next day" but if your 10 days in the hole, and I've still not got a delivery date, then I think you have a right to be pretty pissed. What guarantee do you have it will turn up at all? I had a problem with one overseas delivery; when it had taken more than a month to get to me I asked the seller to cancel the order but said I would reinstate it if the goods ever turned up. Took a couple of months but it got there so I notified the seller and paid the bill.

When Amazon ship with Fastway I always cancel order immediately because it takes much longer than their "delivery guaranteed" time. It'd be nice if I can choose which shipping company they'll use. I'd pay twice as much for anything other than Fastway.

We should make a post of the retailers/stores that use fastway.

    • Yes, or have it as an automatic warning for deals here. Like how there's the cash rewards reminder.
I've got some headphones in the mail from an Amazon deal because I forgot about fastway :(

From my experience Amazon US usually uses Fastway.

      • I'm suffering thought this process right now from Amazon US.

What a horrible customer you are. Package delayed by courier so you raise a Paypal dispute so the seller loses money?! Wow.

    • +4

What a horrible vendor you are - you pick a courier company that you know has a terrible reputation and then complain when the customer raises a Paypal dispute when there is an issue with delivery. Wow.

    • You're right, OP should just accept the indefinite wait time on the lost package which has possibly been stolen by the courier. That's absolutely the moral high ground.

      • There are options in between you know. Like letting the sender fix the issue (resend etc).

I've had a few packages sent to me using Fastway and my experience has always been the same:
Courier rings the intercom to my apartment and asks me to unlock the front door, then I hear the audible thud through the intercom as they toss my parcel onto the floor of the lobby. Nothing has been damaged and I usually just find it funny, but it's really bizarre that they can't be bothered placing it onto the table right by the door or tucking it into the corner out of the way of foot traffic like a civilised human being.

    • I'd be happy with that. For me, they don't even drive into my street and just say I wasn't home (at an office with a reception desk)

      • Yeah, I'm happy to have my stuff and the tossing of packages is harmless, albeit funny.

Fastway are terrible, had two packages dumped on ground next to the footpath just recently. Miracle they weren't stolen. Not ordering from Amazon USA anymore for as long as they continue to use Fastway

  • The price paid by the sender per parcel at Fastway is so low it's no wonder logistics problems occur and not just with the drivers but at their depots as well. It's the same for most courier companies using similar business models. There is a reason DHL is more expensive, legitimate real time parcel tracking and fleet systems cost money.

When delivery is included in the sale price of a product you have to expect some corners to be cut.

I worked for a branch of a business that had taken a national contract with Fastway. Nothing but problems, especially when you need them. Because the contract was national, we as a branch had no power to choose a different courier for our branch. Fastway were lazy, inefficient, and clueless. They would outright lie to cover their incompetence when the heat was on.

Fastway are the reason I wish eBay stores were required to display who delivers their items.

For across state deliveries, they are much slower than the others.

  • I despise fastway.

Avoid at all costs, like everyone above, I’d easily walk away from a sale if the seller didn’t offer alternative options.

I'm currently awaiting a small package from these clowns - Sydney to Brisbane. Ordered on eBay on the 11th - and its status has been "Processed at Sortation Facility" since the 15th. That is woefully inadequate for any Courier company, let alone one that ironically calls itself Fastway.

Remember the name Aramex. To try and fool us all I'll bet they'll make out like they're a new player.

Our kind neighbour delivered a package from Fastway for us that had been dumped on her back porch by a driver on a Friday, despite requiring a signature for delivery and despite multiple people being home at the correct address.

The delivery driver had "signed" for the delivery. His name was Dom apparently. My name is not Dom. I do not know a Dom.

    When I queried the courier company, their response was;
    "Dear Daabido,
Thank you for your email, we apologise for the delay that has occurred.
The scanning now indicates that this consignment has now been delivered. Please see details below.
Please kindly confirm if the parcel is received or not delivered and we will assist further.
    Have a nice day."

They couldn't give a shi. That's not a spelling mistake. I just didn't finish the word, since I'm in that Fastway state of mind.

    Fastway and toll = concerns

    • Fastway + toll + star trak + auspost = concerns… We're running out of options!

i'm not sure the words fastway and delivery belong in the same sentence without 'missed' in between them

Transport in general in Australia is pathetic due to:

    1. Attitude
    2. Culture of the company (slim margins, idea is to screw the driver/franchisee)
    3. Pay
    4. Small number of customers over a huge distance.
    5. End users thinking couriers will wait around for them or take the items through their house or upstairs.

actively avoid buying from any seller that uses Sloway

  • +1

They've consistently delivered to the neighbouring set of units instead of mine the last 3 deliveries, though to be fair I didn't correct them until now. We'll see how they go on this week's delivery.

Fastway recently 'lost' 2 cases of beer I ordered. I think someone from Fastway had a pretty good weekend that week…
