  • how many in stock ?

    • +5

      None. Obviously.

This is the standard Officeworks no-stock-low-price thing.

      • Stupid OW no-stock-low-price :(

  • You'd be lucky to even find 1 of those. I saw these the other day, none in SA, unless I missed a store.

    • -6

i almost completed the order, so there is stock…

i don't need any though, not even for 10c…. no room for them…

      • Almost did, but didn't. If you had of then you would have found no stock and no back order.

        • i'd gone past the select delivery, and it showed stock, i only had 1 item selected

        • i'd gone past the select delivery, and it showed stock, i only had 1 item selected

    Can't order online

    • +1

      i could…

      • how come i tried in the morning but there wasn't any.

      • +1

Its not uncommon for Officeworks to have very cheap stuff listed on their website. 99% of the time they don't have stock. I can confirm I just tried to order and there is NO stock available.

  • +4

    That is cheeeeeeeeep.

$20 gets you one of these

  • unavailable for backorder

  • +2

<3 the prank factor though… "Hi, I have a shipment of 550 chairs Mr. X" (At $55 you get free delivery =D)

  • 0

  • I think there may be stock in certain states… hehe nice one foo7. that would make a pretty good garage sale :)

  • yep seem to be all gone now…

  • Damn the registration… ordered 5 and by the time I completed registration, it is no longer available for backorder

    • Dont blame the registration - their site doesn't show actual stock figures until after you've logged on … so they were long gone well before you even thought of registering!

  • No stock.

  • Sorry - we were unable to continue, please check the following messages

Product EPMISCHABE is not available for backorder.

    • +2

      what is an EPMISCHABE ???

      • +7

        E= Ed (name of chair)
PMI= ? but something to do with the brand or materials. eg ? Mesh ?
        CHA = chair
        BE = Blue

so for example a black one would be EPMISCHABK (BK at the end for black)

I used to work for officeworks. :)

DW-ED MESH CHAIR BLUE the DW at the front means Deleted line.
Officeworks are always serious about getting rid of their discontinued stock & they reduce the prices heavily rather than keep dead stock.

        • +3

So here's a big hint for everyone. If you want to look at most of the clearance lines on Officeworks business direct type DW- into the search bar.

        • +9

What does DW stand for? Don't Worry (there is no stock)?

        • The DW- search doesn't really work.

          Here's DW- CHAIR … http://tinyurl.com/3lg2lw6 … only finds 4

          Here's CLEARANCE CHAIR… http://tinyurl.com/3qkmdb6 …finds 16

So I guess that the DW- finds the really discontinued ones, but the chances of stock is lower. But after a bit of testing, I now think that just using "clearance" works better.

        • +2

          Fair enough, that makes sense.
There are actually a few deletion codes. The 1st letter applies to instore, the second to online. I used to know the codes for online, but have forgotten most now. But for example DX would mean the store had the item on delete cycle, online had it as unavailable (so all the stock would be in stores, not in the warehouse).
The deletion codes go in this order. 1st wave will start with S for sell-through, after a while they get more serious about the markdown & it goes to D for Deleted line, then Q for Quit line, once they are all gone the product code will stay in the system for quite a while (in case of returns or warranty claims) with an X code.
So doing the DW- search will show all the items in deleted line status, but not sell through or Quit line items.
Sorry if I misled anyone there, the website is a little horrid to use IMO, & I thought this search might bring up things that didn't come up under the clearance tab.

  • Empire Leather Office Chair for $13.76
Polo High Back Plush Chair Grey for $20.88

Those 2 are also out of stock, so don't bother.

  • +1

Order $54.90 more for FREE delivery.

    So… anyone for a group buy. ;)

That said, the real minimum price for these is $5.05 because even if you pick up, they want a handling fee.

Maybe if you just go into officeworks and grab one…

    • anyone live with you? = =

    • there seems to be a $5 handling fee even when you choose delivery instead of pick up.
      hmmm….

  • just tried, "unavailable for backorder", so…

  • i saw this a few days ago, it wasn't available back then either so its nothing to do with being 'ozbargained'. They never had stock. its an officeworks online clearance deal. No one ever gets them

  • +1

I bought a desk for $13.84 at OW yesterday, a simple computer desk with keyboard tray.

    • +6

      cool story bro

  • Unavailable for backorder

  • How do I chcek if a store has the in stock?

    • call them.

  • OW…once they no more stock for that items, they will put it on their website with a very cheap
price, it seems it is their ways to do marketing.

    • It's actually a lot less sinister than that. Clearance items automatically reduce in price every week, usually on a Thursday from what I remember.
The system doesn't care if there is only 1, or 100,000,000 of an item. It will reduce the price every week until they are gone. If 1 store has 1 of this item lost out the back of the store, it will show up as available. Not a great system, & very frustrating for the staff too, but that's how it works.

  • No stock as always

  • Cost me more in fuel to get there….

  • Has anyone ever managed to get one of the clearance sales?

  • 000

just got the last one (on display) from fremantle WA
they said morley (9), osborne park, subiaco, still show as having stock.

I also found that the staff have been buying the chair for themselves yesterday, so be quick!

    • +1

I checked OP and Subi about an hour before you posted this. No stock, with an outside chance of lying employees.

  • On backorder.

Cheapest Bargain that even Broden didn't try to get Online … EVAAAAR!! ;-)

  • Are you sure this is legit, seem like the scam, post for 11 cent laptop…….???

    • walk into store
      pay 10c
      walk out with chair
place chair into boot of car, & drive off
no blue flashing lights behind me.

      must be legit.

But if the staff take them all home the evening before and leave none for the customer, is that legit?

      • +1

legal but perhaps unethical. that is the retail food chain. employees always benefit most from early insider information about discounts.

      • +2

So employees arn't customers when they wish to purchase something? Should they be penalised because they work there? That isn't fair either. They don't know what price it will be until the morning of the price change, clearance is not like a sale. They get given a bunch of clearance tickets to put out in the morning, & any customer in at that time can see the ticket & ozbargain the heck out of it if they so desire, before the employee gets to buy it on their lunchbreak. Officeworks employees have to make their purchases before or after work, or during their break. I used to be one.

  • no stock, never was, next week they will probably be $0.01

  • they should get this rubbish off their website already!

    • they took your advice i thinks:

      Page not found
The page you were looking for does not exist.

    • .

  • No stock, no good

  • -1

I agree OW should take it off site, if no stock… I'm sure ACCC will investigate.

  • +1

some people got it. No reason for neg - its OW we know the drill.

    • dude, a true bargain has to be available in reasonable quantities. selling 5 chairs australiawide for 10c doesnt help the 100's of people who miss out. it's pretty much bait advertising.

      • It wasn't really advertised. Someone just happened to find it on their website in a search & decided to post it here. No baiting going on. They wern't out there going "hey we have 10c chairs, come to the stores!" It was found by chance.

        • i disagree mate, if you wack it on your website you ARE advertising it. finding a $5 note on the street is something "found by chance". going to a retailers website and seeing a chair advertised on that site for 10c isnt chance, it's 'shopping'.

        • +1

Hmm I wouldnt call this advertising either. An advertisement is a public notice/announcement, the chair was just listed on their website as clearance. Like Abbycat was saying, there werent any banners advertising the chair for 10c. No one wouldve found the chair unless they specifically searched for clearance items or chairs.

        • but it still generates online excitement and discussion so free publicity for the company.

        • dont really think OW needs "publicity" >.>

    • who's the 'some people?' I think one person managed to get it instore thats it

    • Mate i don't believe anyone got this online. This deal was posted by the OP at 4.06pm . I saw this on officeworks online site at 7am the same day. I tried to check it out but there was no stock showing. And that's why i didn't post this on Ozbargain.
