  How does this compare with the Samsung RU7100 and the Samsung QLED Q60?

    You're comparing a mid range LG led tv (top of the range being the SM9450 which is just a bit better than this) to entry level Samsung ones..

      Q60 not really entry level.

      Samsung RU7100

      This is better than RU7100 but some peoples RU8000 is better than this LG.

        Q60 is an entry level QLED..look it up..although since its a QLED its brighter than other comparable TVs, has low input lag but it still is edge lit and its also motion rate 240 meaning a 120hz panel..its contrast and brightness are good for the price but not great when compared to pricier QLEDs..although you may be right abt the RU8000 just edging the SM8600 in a few areas..

          I am still not sure if RU8000 is really better.

          Some said VA panel over IPS and RU8000 is brighter and black is better but LG with Dolby vision.

          I checked out one RU8000 play 4k movie at JB, not that good I expected but playing 4k demo is not bad.

  How does this compare to Hisense's 65R8? Went to The Good Guys and one of the sales guys was like if you are going to spend in 1400 - 1500 range on a 65R8, you may as well have a look at the LG SM8600/Sony X8500G
