New all time lows for these laptops
Honestly, the increased performance in graphics and cpu, higher refresh rate and larger SSD for an additional $160 is well worth it, you'd be crazy not to go for it.
I would highly recommend it over the cheaper model unless you are absolutely certain you'd be satisfied with light gaming and need/want to save a bit.

    Buy another 8GB stick of RAM for $59 and the $959 laptop is a great well-balanced performance laptop.

    Thoughts on the laptop for video editing as it appears to have a spare bay for a 2.5"ssd and the 1650 seems ok.

    Battery life estimates?

    was looking at a ryzen 7 2700u 512 16gb (single Dimm), but they're currently sold out so thin looks a decent general use replacement even if it is a bit more expensive for better screen and a discrete GPU.
