LG OLED55B9PTA 55" B9 OLED TV $1650 + Delivery @ Appliance Central eBay

160
PITCH20

It seems like a pretty good deal so far, but I hope the price goes closer to $1500, then I am happy to pull the trigger or if I can get 55 C9 for this price ;)

Check if you can price match it from Good Guys or Harvey Norman as previously some Ozbargainers has done it.

I asked an online rep at HN the other day and they said they don't price match eBay but I have also heard people on this site saying they've price matched so who knows, depends who you ask I guess.

I'm THIS close to pulling the trigger on this deal, but I'm holding out for a deal on the 55C9 (for now).

I'm with you on that one, kicking myself for not jumping on the $1712 C9, didn't anticipate the price to shoot up when the B9 was released.

Oh well, I can wait another month. What's your threshold for the 55C9?

      • I'd take anything under $2k probably, I was going to get it on this deal until I realised it was a maximum of $300 off.

    C9 is better right?

C9 has shot up in price lately though. I am waiting for the B9 or C9 to get close to 1500 before I pull the trigger.

What does c9 have over b9?

    • -1

A different letter for a start

Better processor mainly. Something like the a7 in the B9 vs a9 in the C9. Lots of comparisons say get whichever of the two are cheaper.

A newer processor in the tv. I think that's it. Not really $1000 worth I think personally.

    • the b series usually is 90% the same as the c series. C series is kinda like there flagship one. The pannels usually the same and remote and even functions usually the only difference is the in tv speakers are less watts and one other feature i believe that shouldnt worry any1. Depends what you can get both priced for but tbh absolutely nothing wrong with the b series.

      • B series used to just be different bezel and speakers. Now, it's a 3 year old processor and only 2GB of RAM to the 3GB in the C9.
In general HDR viewing the C9 is 38% brighter.

Having an older processor means it will get any firmware updates for fixes or new features long after the C version, and at some point it won't be able to get them while the C can.
With less grunt in the CPU, it can't give the detail that the C9 can.

What are the chances of the c9 dropping price before Christmas?

  • Happy with my C9 65in for $2.5k before the price jumped up. My panel has a slight warm tint on the right-hand side of the screen which isn't too noticeable but a little annoying. Not sure whether I'll bother getting it replaced or not yet.

    • What sort of tint? I want to see if mine has it :P

  • (profanity) it, I'm impatient; going to try to price match this with JBs or TGG after work today.

    • How did you go? Please do provide the location as well

      • I'm in WA so still at work! Don't think I'm going to be able to get to it today anyway :(
