Finally got one. I switched to credit card this time.
I received about 7 order confirmations… Thankfully one stuck.
Had it in cart since 10am. Clicked right on 1:00. Cart clears itself and says "This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired". Very good.
Yeah I give up, followed all the advice, had item added to cart from 10am, everything was all good to go and just needed to hit confirm and pay, opened several of the same tabs in case 1 didnt work. All I got was "Something went wrong. Please try to check out again." and "This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."
how do you apply the code before then? I've got it in my cart but I still need to apply the coupon and then click confirm and Pay right
I had it applied from the 10am deal, I was able to apply that code while it was still in stock at the 10am deal, hate to say but you will be a step behind a lot of other people at the 4pm drop.
I did apply to the code and clicked confirm and pay but then I got an error and took me out the checkout page…
@donkcat: So, at the 4pm deal I did the following, refreshed the page, click Go to checkout, applied the coupon, clicked confirm and pay and I didn't go through

Got "order successful page" but no money has been charged at my paypal, no confirmation to my email, and couldn't see it in my transaction history.

bloody hell, i had it in cart, spamming confirm and pay. Got an "seller has changed the listing error" then next moment I get a unsuccessful error which kicked me out back to the listing page. So sad :(
My first negative vote ever. This is so so dodgy that even though I never neg any deal, I couldn't ignore this one. This item never appeared online for even a single second in today's 1:00 PM sale (10 AM WA time) and clicking 'Buy it Now' simply said "This item isn't available in the requested quantity. It may have been purchased already, or the listing has expired."
And I'm saying this after trying all the tricks of the trade and using multiple tabs in multiple laptops and going ballistic with crazy clicks from 12:59 PM until 13:01 PM.
There are only two possibilities: (1) eBay itself is playing dodgy tricks on people, or, (2) Some professional hackers/bot-scripts are at work to automate the whole process and grab it beyond normal human capabilities.Just got my order placed, after attempting every slot so far. Every other time I have been refreshing the product page with the code pre copied into clip board. Clicking through to checkout, pasting code then clicking buy to miss out, using Paypal.
This time, After putting all the information together from other people I got it! Here is the stretegy.
Leave your checkout tab open from last time and wait on that page (I did not use multiple tabs or devices)
Make sure to use a credit card, not PayPal. This seems to authenticate a lot quicker then PayPal does.
Spam checkout button to place order (coupon is already entered from last time)
You will get a error saying the 'Seller has made updates to the listing'. This did not seem to matter. I just kept spamming the checkout button each second. The order eventually went through (the checkout button loads for a lot longer and there is a pay. URL at bottom of browser.Hope this helps you guys. Basically use a checkout page already open, use credit card not paypal and keep spamming checkout button ignoring errors.

So I notice a lot of you guys add the item to cart. Maybe try buy now instead of cart, if I'm not wrong, buying from cart takes extra step from eBay side.
I clicked "Buy Now" yesterday at 2pm, ofc I failed to buy it but I had the sessionid page bookmarked. Failed again at 6pm coz eBay logged me out for some reasons. But I succeeded this morning 10am. The whole process probably took me 5min at most. I suggest you guys search your history for the eBay checkout page, it ends with sessionid=###We're in the checkout because it's where we were left after buying now at the 10am drop and after the first drop it's the only possible way to be in the race to purchase. 10am is basically the fairest drop of them all because the promo code is unknown and people don't have added to cart (all though it sounds some left in cart from lastnight)
The 10am drop yesterday was fairest that's true, every drop since then has been using the same code though, same for the rest of the drops most likely.
Looks like they might have killed the sessions for some, mine returned an error during the checkout and all the other tabs are now returning the same
Don't know if it's just an extremely unlucky error on my end but it looks like they killed the session right when the 1pm one went live on me so the payment page that has been fine since the 10am one suddenly no longer works. Really dodgy that it happened right as there was more stock
Yeah if that happens then you are (profanity). It happened to me before too and you are left frustrated and have to start all over again.
After 4 attempts I'm finally successful but it really wasn't worth it. It's not a deal and it should be posted in competitions, it's basically a lottery to save $100

I had them in cart since the first drop yesterday and after that I did all the tricks people mentioned like leaving in cart, multiple windows, etc. Failed twice doing that and then managed to get them on 4th try. If it's not in your cart ready to confirm and pay then you have no chance at all, if it is in your cart then it just comes down to luck
Surely to make this at all fair it should be a different link and code each time? This would easily be in eBay's best interests as they surely want these going to 100 different people each time, who will then tell their friends and family how great eBay is / posting it on social etc - as opposed to ending up in the hands of people running bots who just end up profiting up to $100 on each set by flipping them.
It's not like eBay wouldn't be aware of this either. Odd.
eBay doesn't care, they got more people to sign up to Plus subscriptions and surely enough of them will forget to cancel their trials
Appreciate what you're saying, but it's a pretty poor & short-term business strategy unless eBay plus ends up delivering value for those people.
Haha, I got The airpod in my Cart ready to go from yesterday, I kept refreshing at 1pm, finally it show "Buy it now", i pressed it and then "there is not enough item, please check quantity", litteraly 5 secs since 1pm. AFter that out of stock. This is not a deal, it is a lucky draw. Ebay should not advertise it as a DEAL, it is not a deal when customers have to complete payment within 0.3 second, it is MISLEADING.

So I’ve got the item in my cart from the 10am session, coupon code applied and showing as $99 (with warning in red about insufficient quantity etc). I initially tried to checkout with PayPal so if I were to change it now (before the 4pm drop) would that reset my status? Shall I just leave it on PayPal and hope for the best or switch to cc instead?
CC is anecdotally quicker which may mean the difference of a couple of seconds

You did something wrong like you waited until 4:00:02 (so too late) or you tried clicking buy 2-3 times got an error and gave up. You're supposed to keep spam clicking for a bit.
The other possible issue is either your ping or internet speed.
I used the methods described, I got one the first time I tried.

Success! Had the item loaded in my cart with the coupon code from this morning, after seeing the comments i changed it from paypal to credit card. At 3:59:58 i clicked and it error-ed out twice then the third time it kept spinning and went through!

These Ebay deals should be banned from Ozbargain. They make 100 people happy but 5000 people frustrated. It also doesn't seem right that an ebay plus subscription is required to enter this lottery. I'm just bitter as i took part in all 6 attempts and ended up with nothing but wasted time and frustration.

I do not trust eBay to honour their vouchers. I used a voucher and gift cards to complete a purchase with zero balance payable, but they charged me the full listing price. eBay claim to have transaction logs for verification, but their call centre prefer to ignore you and imply you are lying. Even after providing a screen shot they told me I could have falsified it, contrary to what their logs would have shown. As I had emailed the screen shot to myself at the time of the transaction the time was irrefutable. eBay eventually admitted their system error but still refused to rectify it. Fortunately PayPal and the seller did help. Buyer beware with eBay click bait promotions. Take screen shots when using eBay vouchers and email them to yourself immediately if they do not work.
I missed the deal at 2pm but I was at the very last stage with confirm and pay left it as it until 6pm deal.
All I need was 1 click to get it. Click exact at 6:00:01 and couldn’t get it. These ebay deals are just not legit and false marketing.
