  • Hey. How do they compare to these ones?:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/TEKTON-Wrench-Metric-26-Piece-2528…

    Edit: $25.58 right now

    • +1

I have no experience with the Tekton version.

I've been using the Bondhus ones for years and they've never failed me. I found the one piece holder better than the folding type for daily use.

      • Thanks for your feedback. I was reading about both on some review website and they rated the Tekton ones better. I also found some not so great reviews for the Tekton ones on Amazon. I guess overall Bondhus seem like the way to go for a few extra dollars.

        • Have a Tekton torque wrench and (had) a breaker bar - somehow I lost it.

Both were very good, only complaint is that I lost the breaker bar hahaha

I've never needed imperial sized Allen keys. If you're like me, you can get the metric set only, also on special right now $16.04, here

    • I went for this set. Metric only.

      • Now I'm thinking I should have gone for the long set

  • These are great, lifetime warranty, I've had a dual set for years.

So what do you suppose I should do with all of the ones I've accumulated from assembling IKEA furniture?

Throw that Chinesium crap in the bin.

Bondhus make great Allen keys, I'm a maintanance fitter and have been using them for the past 8 years. The solid holders are much better as opposed to the hinge type

  • Any scienticians want to offer their opinions on Protanium as a material?

  • -5

    Thats 5$ in bunnings.

  • Awesome timing, Thanks OP

  • From my bitter experience, the week point with hex bolts has been in the screw, not the driver. Removing a rusted one of these from metal is a huge pain.

Maybe torx is better but I haven't encountered a rusty torx screw yet to make a fair call. Screws are such are timesink.

  • Seem to be distributed by Sutton Tools.

    https://www.suttontools.com/about/brands/bondhus/

Bought. Thank you. Great having quality tools.

  • can we sell Allen keys?

  • If you are buying these (which are great) make sure you get the ball end version.

As team Teri said earlier if you just need the metric version go for these https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0006O4AEM

Who knows, maybe Bunnings will drop their price to match?

    • What are the benefits of the ball end version?

Just wondering as the non-ball end version is much cheaper.

The ball end lets you insert and turn the fastener at an angle and makes it quicker and easier to drive the fastener in and out. The tightening and loosening should be done with the short end.
