Living in NSW and choking on bushfire smoke? N95 (also known as P2) face masks are probably the only face masks that will filter out most of the toxic stuff in the air. Anything else, including those cheap dust masks you can buy for 10 cents at Bunnings or other unrated surgical masks, is just as bad as not wearing anything at all…like smoking a pack of ciggies a day, not good for those with asthma and other respiratory conditions.

Under a buck for an N95 rated mask is very cheap.

I just went to Bunnings and bought two 3M P2/N95 paper masks for $15, and their no-name bulk pack of 30 P2 masks was approximately $29 for 20 masks.

Or buy a few pallets and ship to Hong Kong

    • HK Customs will seize them and return to sender, or more likely throw them away.
Due to this being an illegal/protest item.

Plot twist…make the return address one in HK as well!

This is going to get so much worse while the billionaire's tools pretend climate change isn't real.

Maybe this will kick off wearing on of these when you have a cold (like the Japanese do) which I think is very sensible.

    • Just think about all the people around you on a Sydney’s rush hour train. It’s very sensible and considerate to wear a mask when you’ve a cold and couldn’t stop sneezing or coughing.

  • thanx, got alot…..for some reason.

3M 50 for AUD 67 sounds a very good alternative.

Plenty of reasonable alternatives on Amazon.

  • Can these masks be reused and is there a right way to store them and how many times can they be reused?

Are they more useful than cheap masks when sanding wood, welding or grinding metals or spray painting?

    • These are not suitable for anything you listed.

  • Shipping kills the deal
