      • champion! thanks for ggling that for me!

        • I am guessing you have an amazon.com affiliate membership?

Couldn't you use the same account for both .com and .co.uk

I only have a normal amazon buying account and can use the same username on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk

  • Thank You for posting this:-) Hi I just oreded this item. This is my 1st time using Amazon. Its $86.81AU to diliver to Perth. Should I pay any more at the Cusom clearence at the receipt of the item? How they are going to deliver that? If no one at home that time what will they do?

    Thank You

If anyone know where I can find these info let me know.. Thanks…

    • NO, you don't need to pay any Custom tax ( as the sale is below $1000 AUD). If you are not at home, Aus Post will left a card in your mailbox. you need to go to your nearest Aus Post with that card to collect the item.

      • +2

Normally , they dont even bother to come to knock the door. They leave the card and go.

        • This is so true, they just want to get the work done asap. I really hate with this AusPost practice. Lucky I have moved to city. All my deliveries are sent to concierge and I can pickup 24 hours.

      • Thank you so much

  • AUD86.81 Great value! Thanks for the post

  • Man, that is a very good price for a usb 3, 1TB. I got mine from JBHfi, usb 3 for 98. I am only wondering about the warranty. Can we call the local WD for its warranty?
Anyone who had any product of WD from overseas and got warranty here?

    • +1

Can we call the local WD for its warranty?

      edit:

looks like you have to send it back there…

      http://support.wdc.com/warranty/policy.asp?custtype=end&lang…

No warranty service is provided unless the Product is returned to an authorized return center in the region (warranty regions are identified as Canada, U.S.A., Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, India and Thailand) where the Product was first shipped by WD, which may have regional specific warranty implications.

      in this case, the USA

when you fill in the warranty claim, it prompts you for serial number, so they know which region it belongs to…

  • Is this decent for watching hd movies? It won't turn itself off after awhile or something?

    • +5

It depends on the rating of the movie you are watching, anything (except for p*rns in 1080p) with an IMDB ranking 5 or less will be automatically erased by the hard drive :)

  • +1

Heh. I know some portable discs went into sleep mode when they weren't meant to. Not so good when watching films (even those less than 5 rating! ;))

    • I have a WD My Passport and it never goes to sleep when playing movies so I doubt this will. WD is one of the better brands in HDD business.

  • Been meaning to buy one for the new financial year. Thanks, just ordered one! :-)

  • Just bought :) Can't wait for the USB 3 Backup speeds.. Finally!

  • Officeworks has same type of thing (ie external pocket usb 3.0) but 750GB for 88 if you just want one immediately and dont want to wait for shipping.

I just use one for transferring files between friends PCs etc.

    • Can you post the link please?

  • Do you guys think the discounted price will stay indefinite or it may increase later on?

  • +1

Thanks for this, ordered - finally a usb 3.0 device to test on my rig I built over a year ago ;)
