Must resist (only as I have better cans)…

      You need these bad

Too many in stock LOL. Would I use these, or my HD800S'?

Bought from CotD way back in 2015. It was on special and I had a voucher, and so ended up paying $30 delivered.

Pros: Pleasing sound, value for money, comfortable, no hot ears, replaceable cable.

Cons: Non-replaceable ear pads and head band (but they held up well after 5 years and counting), plastic mountings for ear cups make cracking noises until they settle on your head, noisy cable sleeve (when it rubs).

Just a note, you actually can replace the ear pads with other types of ear pads, you just have to be mindful of which ones will suit these headphones

    • I thought they fixed the ear pads area and now they are replaceable? True story?

      • +1

Just make sure you don't break the clips when you remove them. You can just grab HM5 pads which will fit but require some force. You would have break stock pad when you replace them. You can google/youtube for step to replace them.

  • Classic. After doing my research a few years ago on the best headphones i could get for a decent price, it was these. Don't even remember paying as much as $98 though. But I do recommend the Headphones themselves.

      Think it was this deal.
$58 was a great deal. $98 + delivery kind of makes you think twice.

      • yeah it was around that price don't think I was alerted by ozb, just got lucky on ebay USA i think…

  • Are there any other comparable open backs in this price range?

    • Not much, next thing would be Technica AD 500x for around $150.
They are much more open than these though.

I own the model up of these Philips and if they're anything like them they are great all rounders. I use mine primarily as a gaming headset

      • AD700X drop in price below $150 from time to time. And recently Amazon had the AD900X (which would be the best in this price range) down at $169, which is an absolute bargain.

    • Superlux get a reasonable rap for $40-$50 everyman.

The X2HR Fidelio is also a very good value option, if you want something a bit more high end.

    • Thanks, I ended up picking up these, reviews look great.

      • Mine arrived yesterday and i am very impressed , very light and comfortable and more low end than i was expecting , i like the sound signature , not as good as LCD2 but they are a fraction of the price , money well spent
