  • How does this bulbs work? Can I still use the manual switch? Or do I have to use the app all the time?

    • It's a wifi bulb, so you need to leave the manual switch on if you want to turn it on/off via voice command/app. Same as any Wifi bulb e.g Yeelight, although this one is White only (dimmable).

      • That means I can't turn it on manually, lol. I hate to imagine saying google turn on the lights 10 times in the dark. Or hearing sorry google can't connect to internet right now…

        • From what you are describing, does such a wifi bulb or such a wifi plug exists?

@ilovefullprice: If you flash it with custom firmware you can set it such that when you switch it on it goes on. But once you switch the light off then the wifi is killed and the light won't turn in again without manually switching it on

You can turn it on/off manually like any dumb bulb. However if it's switched off from the switch, you just can't voice command it to turn on again.

@Bigboomboom: If it is switched off by voice command, and then I also flicked the switch manually off, when I flick it back on, will the light turns on, or do I have to go to the app to turn it on also? This is the scenario I want to avoid.

@[Deactivated]: Normally it should go on again. Some bulbs do have their last state saved and will still be off though. Then you just need to turn off/on again to cancel it.

My smart bulbs have an IFTTT that switches them on and to the max brightness every time they connect to my wifi, meaning if you turj the light switch off and on it there will be light!

          • @Big Paddy: Oh that's brilliant. Just need to wait a few seconds. Not too bad. How long do you have to wait?

I have the previous version and you can set a default state when power is applied. I have that set to “illuminated” so they can behave like a normal bulb if you want.

          • @LoftyAu: Hmm I might give it a try then, thanks!

800lm not enough fo a ceiling bulb too dark i'd go for 1000+

  • Can we schedule what time this bulb goes on?

Also how does it compare with https://www.kmart.com.au/product/mirabella-genio-e27-cw-wi-f…

    • TP-Link uses their own platform while Mirabella I'm fairly sure is Tuya based. Apart from that I would say no real difference in usage. Quality wise no idea.

  • I am looking for the cheapest long lasting bulb basically to keep a dark pantry food store room always lit up as it deters the rats pretty effectively I found so ideally a schedule based light would be perfect but honestly the cheapest long lasting light would also work.

Doesn't even need to be too bright but not dull so they feel safe to enter the room via the ceiling which needs to be walled up with anti rat materials aka not dry wall, wood or gyprock but metal or glass because they can bite through wood and dry wall and other soft materials I find.

So anyone know of a cheap long lasting light bulb can be WiFi/timer/schedule capable or not but longevity is the main ideal with price per hour or year of course.

It is the bayonet type aka B22 and not the Edison screw kind aka E27.

    • See my link below, could be an option.

Longevity guarantee is hard on WiFi bulbs

      Cheers!

  • This I think compares well and a lill cheaper as well

    • What's the rates hours or lifetime of this bulb it doesn't say and can't find it.

Looking for a really long lasting bulb something that might last even five times a normal bulb.
