Winix Zero 4 Stage Air Purifier $449.99 @ Costco (Membership Required)

80

The Winix Zero 4 Stage Air Purifier provides world-leading air purification for any home environment - effectively capturing airborne pollutants and allergens including Dust, Pollen, Pet Dander, Smoke, Mould Spores, VOCs and Household Odours.

The Zero 4-Stage can be used in bedrooms up to larger open plan living spaces, featuring 4 stages of filtration; a Fine Mesh Pre-filter, Deodorization Activated Carbon Filter, Hospital Grade True HEPA Filter and Winix PlasmaWave® Technology.

Seems to be the cheapest that I could find for now, although not as cheap as before (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/471987)
Note that these are selling fast, at Costco crossroad yesterday there were 74, and today there were 28.
Will suggest to call them up first to check the availability before going there.

Winix Zero 4 Stage Air Purifier $449.99

Will this work well if you're sharing a place with someone who has a bad wind problem?

    • Only one way to find out

        Write to the manufacturer ?

Try it first and return it if it doesn't work.
In theory the carbon filter should be able to filter the odour i think.
But again, i don't think that kind of odour is health concerning.
Definitely not nice, but not health concerning, as long as the problem is happening non stop

            Mental health…

    • In general, no. It traps particulates, not methane gases.

Aren't gases made up of particles??

If not, then what are them made up of?

  • They don't happen to sell the 5 model do they?

If you have a reverse cycle air conditioner, look up 'furnace filter' on amazon, buy whatever filter suits your needs, cut it to the shape of the input on your AC, bung in on. Very cheap and effective way to achieve the same thing. I use it for filtering out wood and bushfire smoke - works great and quickly.

  • None in stock in Canberra.

    • Are they still available? I have a pro 5 on order from appliances online, but I have no idea when it is coming.

    • None left in Canberra and they aren't getting any more in.

  • 6-7 at crossroads, though $450

    • Make that 5
