Hey all, WD Black SN750 1TB NVMe SSD going for A$211.80. I've not seen this drive going for less than $280 locally. This drive is only second to Samsung SSDs and is never this low. I reckon they are pushing out stocks to make room for a PCIE 4.0 drive but at this price, its worth it. Please note that this is the one without the heatsink - but you can also select the one with the heatsink, though its more expensive.

PLEASE NOTE: By default, the shown price is not the lowest. You have to click on the "New (17) from $211.80" link and add to cart the one from Amazon US to get the deal. It ships only late December (which means it likely won't arrive by Xmas unless you choose priority shipping).

From previous experience, they won't charge your card until they are ready to ship.

  • ah amazon us is selling for $211

    • Its not - you have to follow the instructions I posted above

      • i see now ta :P

        • Sneaky little bastards they are.. But they have the best deals :)

  • Still available at the 211 price, but not available until the 25th December

  • WOW, just bought ADATA S8200 PRO from PCCG FOR 199. how's that one compared with this?

this is better but in real world performance you wouldn't be able to tell then difference between a $140 1TB Nvme drive VS a $400 Nvme drive unless you move files larger all the time or do video editing.

Most people dont notice the difference between a 1TB SSD SATA vs nvme :)

How does this compare to the silcone power ones that were on sale recently? I will be editing video on a laptop.

Been using silicon power for over a year now, they are amazing but doubt we'd tell the difference between this one and SP

      https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/silicon-power-p34a80-pc…

      Very similar results

    • tbh all these mid to high nvme's wouldn't make much difference unless you're transferring between nvme or over a 10gbit+ line.

OS or Gaming load times would see little difference to sata and most transfers would be limited by other bottlenecks in your system.

That said I have an EVO 970 plus, crucial p1 and sata ssd's and there's little difference with most activities.

Editing video would see the same negligible difference with sata ssd, cpu and gpu matter most to video editing/rendering.

      • This is very true. From my understanding (and experience) in most cases, what matters is the random 4k transfers, which generally is the similar for most and a very far cry from the headline numbers (most will be under 100MBps, even Samsung ones).

  • Can always just add a heatsink yourself. I've used one of these and are great:

    • Yup, you're right. I think WD's heatsink is an EK one anyway

  • Why does it show 250gb in cart but the correct model number? Will I have any issues I wonder?

    • Good point - it shows the right model number though. I did order one - hopefully it comes with the right capacity

  • I like how the one with heatsink is more expensive - like $564.78 ouch!

    • Its gone down now to $244 (maybe you have to select a different seller)

Just to note to anyone here, Amazon will not charge you until they are ready to ship. You should be able cancel a purchase until that point.

  • Now available at AU$207.20, (+ ~$7.50 delivery if not Prime), from Amazon US - see OP on how to select.
