So you wouldnt say its worth getting parts for it when buying the actual vacuum? Where do you get your parts from
Do you have a rough estimate of when certain parts should be replaced. E.g. the brush lasts 6 months of daily use? Are there any alerts the vacuum will give to say a part needs replacing?
@zztopgtb: Yes, the device keeps track which parts to replace when and will alert you. As a rule of thumb, filters need to be replaced every 150 hours. Brushes every 300 hours. So if your vacuum takes up to an hour to go through the house daily, you are looking at replacing filters twice a year and brushes once a year.
@lubos: I have an s50 and the filter requires regular cleaning. We have 2 dogs and a cat though so ymmv.
Can get cheap kits for the s50 for $20 on eBay or amazon. Just bought one of those and have heaps to spare.
$450 is where i'll consider this since it's been that price before and recently as well.

That was an Amazon AU RRP error.
Doens't look like it, I saw your comments but doens't mean that others got a better price or took a lower margin. They sold through two sets even since it was re-stocked after selling out, but wasn't a price error since they delivered on the price.
Boxing Day today. They appear to have this vacuum cheapest current over $500.
I would bite the bullet if it came down to $450 again on Amazon.

That is an INTERNATIONAL VERSION which does not comes with local warranty :-)

Also, I see in the ebay listing you can select virtual wall to purchase as an extra. I thought this model supports virtual walls in the app and doesn't require that tape?

Yes you can setup in the app, however before your vacuum finish the first scan you won't able to use the virtual wall function:-). Also the real virtual wall would be much more accurate than in the App.

eBay discount doesn't mean eBay pays 20% for the customer.
Ordered one from the last deal but the package with Aus post keeps being delayed. It’s been a week since order for today still not delivered.

What are people's experiences with the mopping function? Worth it? Or does it just spread water all over the place?
Mopping feedback;
- Useful for removing dust and very minor marks
- Really just keeps that "just cleaned look", but doesn't really clean
- Water is like a few drops so dries quickly if not immediately but doesn't really clean or get grout
- Unlike the other models, this model can not save floor plans, rooms or zones. So if you have any carpet or a rug you have to manually select a an area to clean and then do a zone clean. Most of the time the zone stays, until you initiate a standard clean or clear a different area. I say "most" as sometimes it shows the zone on the map, I click "zone clean and" off she goes to the carpet and immediately gets stuck with the mop attachment in as it was attempting a standard clean.
It doesn't take long to setup a zone clean, but annoying you need the phone, and can't just say, clean the kitchen.
Yes, I like the product, but mopping is more of a gimmick. I have tiles, so it may work better with vinyl or floorboards.
Just bought this to have as a second unit. Have had an S50 gen 2 since March of this year and it has changed our life. Goes out everyday @ 9am an vacuums 34m2 in approx 45 minutes (depending on the obstacles that have been left on the floor).
This one will be used on a second level. While the first unit does perform being moved across floor levels, I'm hoping that the mapping function will reduce the clean time if we have a dedicated unit.
For those asking, the mopping function is more of a stop-gap solution. It does a decent job (on bamboo floorboards), but doesn't replace the need to do a proper mop. The vacuum really shines on carpets.
Good info. They advertise it like you can pick different zones and tell it to go and clean those zones, but then I read other stuff online saying it can't save zones. can you explain how the zone cleaning feature works?? thanks
in the app, open the map, select add zone and highlight the zone areas and then select zone screen.
But it doesn't save the zones, so essentially need to do this every time.
thanks. that sounds like a problem that could be fixed in 4 hours by the devs, generously estimating, but they chose not to.

Anyone bought from these guys before? They offer options to buy spare parts with it, can anyone with an S50 recommend to get spare parts with the purchase, or just wait and buy when needed? Do the parts become faulty, or is more a wear and tear thing?
