Great price. I almost got one of these. Excellent for what it is. I got an insta360 one x instead as it rock solid stable and 360 degrees, and also film with my phone which I carry anyway. Both the pocket and one x are brilliant for travel though.
My problem with the ONE X is that there are places that don’t allow a selfie stick like Disney World, and Antelope Canyon. I’m sure there are more of such places, unfortunately :(
the problem is there is no insta360 one x deal both on black friday and cyber monday :(

I would definitely recommend at this price, have found mine great for putting together holiday videos.
Took the plunge and preordered the Xiaomi FIMI PALM. Probably a pile of junk but at half the price and with bluetooth & wifi built-in I'll just hope for the best.

From the specs it looks like the battery-life beats the DJI Osmo pocket by quite a bit (which is a big win).

I think the auto focus was upgraded massivley in the latest firmware.
The latest firmware has updated to using phase detection auto focus now and really improved on the pulsing noticed earlier on. The mic isn't great but that's because most people cover up the mic when placing their hands, however you can attach a proper mic to improve the quality. I've had mine for over a year and with all the frequent updates it keeps this little beast relevant.
Both have been fixed with firmware updates. Just don't block the mic with your hand.
Good for indoor and lite shooting, outdoor and sports, meh…
(You've got a smartphone anyways)

I have one of this and the expansion kit (Thanks to Ozbargain). The Wifi module (in the expansion kit) unlocks the full potential of this device. The only gripe I had was there was no tripod adapter available. They could have just included a 1/4" screw hole on the WiFi module itself but they didn't. So I bought this. This requires transferring the Wifi Chip to tripod adapter but it was much easy that I thought. They even supply you a small but perfect screw driver to do that. Now I can use the Osmo pocket with a gorilla pod attached and control it using my phone. This footage was captured on Osmo pocket with the above mentioned setup.
It is an amazing video.
How did you shoot it ?
Went to the beach. Placed the Osmo pocket on tripod. Using my mobile switched it to slow motion and threw some french fries next to it. The seagulls swooped in and started hovering expecting more fries :)

In a way, op's half make sense as you can attach your smart phone to it for easier viewing/control/subject tracking via the phone app.

Different use cases, if you are in the market for an action camera like the Gopro 8, compare it to the equivalent Osmo Action.
If you are in the market for a portable mini gimbal cam Osmo Pocket, you would want to compare to the equivalent Xiaomi Fimi.
If you are not sure what your use case is, you probably don't need it ;-)
