Is there any equivalent of this post for Woolworths? Thx

There's an app I use called half price that lists everything 50% off from both Woolworths and Coles and you can filter between the two or both.

Yum, gorging on low-cost imported raw seafood that's the product of China and Vietnam respectively … what could possibly go wrong with plan?! ;-)

      • +1

Lol first I'm not eating them raw. Second I've see plenty of Chinese and Vietnamese growing up to be slim and healthy people, the smearing on their food industry has been way too hyped up. Thirdly I've been gorging on unhealthy Australian food like Maccas and KFC so if anything gonna kill me it would most likely be the local unhealthy food.

If we're being serious - first and third points: okay, fair enough. Second is a matter of personal preference - personally, any country in which melamine can deliberately end up in infant formula is one that I will pay extra to avoid - so I can and do pay extra for preferably Australian (or at least OECD-produced): Garlic, bacon, and seafood in particular, but food in general. For the comparatively low cost (e.g. a few dollars for Australian garlic, about double for Australian bacon, and about 50% more for fresh Australian prawns) I personally think it's worth paying for increased food-safety peace of mind & the improved taste, at least to me. You may well feel differently.
Edit: can see you've been down-voted, that was not me.

@nickj: My Apologies. I thought you wanted a serious answer. It's a pet peeve of mine when someone tells me wat not to eat like the health freaks going to HJ/KFC threads and start admonishing people of their diet. Sorry but I choose the food for myself. I dun tell others to eat only certain foods so I hope they dun tell me food from specific countries I should exclude.

Saying that, I dun care about the formula milk scandal cuz that was ages ago, harsh punishment was dealt. I'm not gonna find all the rest guilty just cuz of that. Plus I dun drink formula.

Secondly, Heck I have eaten Mr Chen and other chinese food and Vietnamese and watever else for ages and not got problems while I have had food poisoning from local food gone bad. Also I reckon it's more likely to get injured from a random needle found in local fruits anyway since I buy them all the time.

Third I have seen plenty chinese and Vietnamese kids growing alrite in their country. I believe the type of diet I take is more crucial to my health than the country origin of food I consume. The local kfc, red meat, sausages and other junk food I take have a much higher probability to clog my arteries and give me heart issues, stroke and cancer etc than chinese/viet food will. So in big scheme of things, my plan to eat these delicious prawns snacks is fine. Of course I dun speak for others. They can do watever they like. And it's okay I dun care about negs. It's good to talk things out. Peace bro.

            • @Jared17: It is worrying you misunderstand serious health matters, but push these erroneous ideas here.
