First-time submitter so be gentle please! Seems like the best non-eBay Plus price for this well-reviewed entry-level motherboard. I've heard good things about the VRM, especially relative to other boards in this price range.

there's nothing good about asus support ….if it goes wrong you are on your own

    • so what brand do you recommend?

      • I don't like recommending any brand because of sods law but I have had better luck with Msi and asrock build quality, because asus is crap. gigabyte used to be good but recent boards build quality has been hit and miss.

I just had the LAN port die on my ROG Crosshair VI and ASUS promptly repaired it and returned it back at their expense under warranty.

I disagree. I've RMA'd no less than three dead Asus motherboards (all P8P67 models) in years past and had no trouble obtaining a RMA number, posting it off to a Sydney address and had them repaired and returned fairly promptly. So their Australian warranty support is in fact good in my experience. The reason why those older Asus motherboards kept dying in the first place is a separate question worth asking, but that's for another day. Asus motherboard build quality seems to have improved since then. Because of the good support I received from my RMA experience years prior I've only ever bought Asus motherboards since and now own this Asus X570-P motherboard and find it to work well. Recommended at this price.

      • P8P67 was 2011/12 - nearly a decade past.. I no longer buy anything asus unless its dirt cheap and disposable - so considering its a premium brand I no longer own much of their crap because of repetitive piss poor service.

Asus support was the single worst experience of my life when dealing with customer support. Took 2 months to fix a laptop that died after 4 months. It was ultimately rectified with the help of the JB store manager. The saddest thing is very few manufacturers consistently make as quality PC components as Asus.

Got spooked by the amount of people having trouble with B450 boards and so just got this for $235 from a previous deal, it just werks so I'm happy with it.

  • how does this compare to the msi gaming x570 boards

      This should answer all questions

      • Interestingly the X570-P doesn't fare too well on this one, being ranked at Tier IV alongside most entry-level X570 boards. But I've seen it do much better on other comparisons (like this one), and in past OzBargain discussions it's had a positive reception. I doubt it matters all that much for those not running a 3900X or 3950X though.

The ranking is because it is an Entry-Level board, it's one of the cheapest X570 boards.

          • @Jasonissm: Ahh, given the document's heavy focus on VRM, I'd misunderstood it as tiering based off that, rather than of the over-all relative feature-set. Thanks for the correction.

  • how's this compare to gigabyte x570 gaming x?
