    What's the t&c's?

E.g. can you pay with wishcards??

  • Can you click n collect?

    • you can click and collect normally with the normal shopback deal, so it should still be the same with this deal.

  • time to stock up on some Gin.

  • +12

Cashback excludes taxes, ineligible for cashback if paid with gift card in full and partially, and redeemable in 75 days, making the offer useless, plus considering that you have no control getting the whole online order. If woolworths unable to fulfill any part of your order, you lose your cashback in full. That was I have been told in past order. Never use woolworths online ever for cashback purpose.

    • +6

      Just order each item seperately

So if I buy 74 items I just do one at a time

But it's a bit awkward when I arrive for pickup 74 individual chocolate bars

      • +3

You could do that unless your each individual single item worth at least $30. lol

    • Only for Woolies, BWS you can pay with GC

      • About 50% odds it'll be "temporarily unavailable" tonight

    • Agreed. Have been bitten by this caveat in the past, never used cashback again for Woolworths orders.
I suppose it might be ok for small orders of general items that are almost guaranteed not to be out of stock, but one of the benefits of using cashbacks is to do a larger order.

    • It goes for any deal, if you order 10 items and want to return 2 you lose all the cashback.

It's a pain in the ass, therefore you have to be careful what you order or you're stuck reselling online.

  • +1

Can you order and pay through the BWS app?

    • Nope.

    • If you buy booze, order from Woolies and get $15 back.

  • +8

If you search hard there are probably a few deals to be had at BWS, but keep in mind their prices are usually significantly inflated.

For example their AsahiSD is supposedly "on special" at $51 ("save" $13) but can be had for $45.90 at DM's, where you can pay by gc for -5% and get 1% cash back. Difference is about a dollar with the "20%"(which is actually 18% at best) cashback, assuming it goes through 75 days later.

So as always- shop around, do your sums, and don't rely on cashback if the difference is small. Not worth the hassle imo. Ymmv.

    • Well summed up couldn’t find anything decent on beer front .

Thanks OP this will help fuel my rampant alcoholism that's tearing my life apart.

    • +3

That's the only thing keeping mine together… Thanks OP.. :-)

  • hmm. Ardbeg 10 down to 84 and Lagavulin 8 down to 80… Do I need to add to my stockpile? hmmmmmmmmm.

anybody tried the Balvenie double wood?

    • +2

It’s not called the viagra of scotches for nothing!

      It’s very smooth.

      • +1

btw its down to 87 now if you want in.

    • +8

mate you got the point what i wanted to and I posted it through my mobile so its a typo …i hope you take advantage of the deal rather than wasting your time correcting English/grammar and by the way i didn't neg you … cheers.

      • -4

Of course I got the point. I'm just pointing it out as a joke and so you can correct it using the edit function.

Whoever did neg me though can grow up and get a sense of humour while they're at it.

        • Multiple negs means your outvoted re: the sense of humour lol

          • -4

@Yamun121: Maybe people just can't handle Wednesdays. Also the post has been updated since then so the neggers may just not know it was originally written as Wollies.

          • +2

@Yamun121: There are other options. More likely means they either didn't get the joke or they thought it was unnecessary.

            The word is "you're" btw.

            • @[Deactivated]: True, agreed
Though pointing out the obvious 'you're' reflects bitterly, good one

              • @Yamun121: Glad you got the irony Y121. Not that your comment was, but the pettiness and hypocrisy (not to mention fundamental dishonesty) on OzB at times is legendary.

  • Is it minimum purchase $30?

    • no the max cashback is capped at 30$, so that means you can purchase for 150$ to get the max cashback.

    • +1

I think it's minimum $30 for Click and Collect for Woolies (it is at my local Woolies anyway).

  • This will reduce Maker's 46 to $48 from this deal: https://bws.com.au/product/767547/makers-46-kentucky-bourbon…

    • -1

price bet at Dan's just now for $59 per bottle. just is case the price jumps up tonight at 7pm.

can cancel Dan order if the price stays at $60 on BWS then drops to $48.

I've been burnt before waiting for this type of deal.

  • Where's the Amazon baby.

  • +1

This used to be their standard rate many moons ago.

  • Even better when coupled with the spend $30 get $15 back AmEx offer

  • What time is that in Perth for the mathematically challenged?

    • +1

      4-6pm

    • If you're logged in to Ozbargain and your city is set correctly, it will show the time in your time zone at the bottom of the deal post

  • Any good buys? I think some of those eBay deals were better for beer tho.

    • The Hollandia 500ml cans are decent at $50, $2.99 cheaper than at Dans.

  • If you do a shop worth $150 or less then go for the 10% cashback at Coles ($15 cap) through Cash Rewards. I'm looking forward to the BWS deal though

    • -1

      Coles doesn't have cashback.

      • There is. Cashrewards has for 10% off for new customer

  • Am i going crazy?
I can only see "Double Cashback now" / 4% Cashback (capped at $30) when in Shopback.

    • +3

Deal starts at 7pm till 9pm AEDT.

      • now dont i look like an idiot lol
        thanks for that! :)

    • +2

Unless you're east of New Zealand the deal hasn't started yet.

It's certainly worth posting but I don't really get why this deal is so popular myself. Perhaps I've got something wrong? A few deals in alcohol (one gin and one whisky) but groceries is marginal.

The Ww cashback is 6.75% - 7.5x0.9 (**see below), and excludes delivery costs etc. Then you wait a couple months+ and hope everything went through okay before you get a refund. Alternatively you can get 5.0% off your total bill (inc delivery) instantly via a Wish card plus 0.9% cashback, and not have to outlay as much moolah, nor have to wait/worry.

It's the apparent big saving offered I guess (esp the often exaggerated hope with BWS - see my comment above) but iirc Ww was doing 10% off buys over $100 or something similar themselves recently.

**When is someone going to take cash back providers to task for the up-front deception I wonder? Yes they explain in their terms but it's the % which catches attention. I suppose 0.9% doesn't quite cut it.

      • Agreed completely on groceries, the click and collect system through Woolies is too finicky and needs to be done a good half a day ahead of time before pickup which is just annoying, literally never has the items you pick upon collection (Done it a few times now and always had atleast a few things missing/substituted; atleast they refund and don't charge you extra I suppose..) and when shopping for loose/individual produce I much prefer to pick and choose anyway compared to the most warped and small and dodgy looking things they tend to pawn off to you..

I'll be picking up some booze with the BWS offer though.
My unimpressive ~mid-tier stuff is the same price at First Choice/Dan Murphies anyway and cashback works with Wish cards within a day or so.

        • Might want to be careful. Cashrewards allows Wish cards but this suggests gift cards are excluded under this deal:

          Notes:
          - 20% Cashback offer is capped at $30 cashback
          - Excludes taxes, fees or additional extras
          - Extension tracking does not work for BWS, please clickthrough from ShopBack to ensure that your cashback is tracked.
          - Wholesale Purchases are not eligible for Cashback
          Cashback is not qualified for:
          - Wholesalers
          - Gift card purchases unless otherwise stated
          - Returns, exchanges & cancellations and BWS app Purchases
          - Promo codes or voucher codes not approved by ShopBack
          - Champagne, Penfolds & Non-Alcoholic purchases (unless stated otherwise)

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: I guess this specific 20% promo might differ, but I did get my regular cashback tracked via wish cards the other day pretty fast. Oh well already picked up my order, guess I'll see..

          • +1

            @[Deactivated]:

Gift card purchases unless otherwise stated

As in buying gift card from BWS will not qualify for cash back. Paying with gift card is still fine.

            • @highdealer: Got ya. Misread that when I looked for info about paying with gcs on their website. Might be poor observation or coincidence but I don't recall seeing the ad for Wish GCs above the BWS deals list when they had the 20% going.

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: The other replies here clarified it already pretty much, but for the sake of putting it in writing if anyone is going back and reading this from a similar future BWS deal and is curious; I got my full 20% cashback tracked and pending by shopback just now already with online Click and collect Wish Card purchase :)

  • +1

BWS prices seem so inflated compared to Dan Murphs on the handful of things I compared. I need to stock up but can't see the bargain here, did anybody find anything worth getting? At most I was saving $2 per item AFTER cash back.

    • Chivas XV for around $54 paying with e-gift card and cash back with a free Gold Class ticket is pretty good. If you value the movie ticket at $20 then the drink only cost you $34

      • FYI This is not Village it is Event Cinemas GC and there is no GC cinema in Victoria.

    • Makers 46 was mentioned above if you want bourbon. Another couple of good buys (after 18% cashback) are Ink Gin and Four Pillars Dry Gin. Almost forgot Chambord Liquer

Don't forget the $30 max limit.

Edit: Lol. Talked myself into it, so have to vote for the deal.

    • Plenty for me? slab of beer for neighbour and 10x440ml cider for upcoming Sat was same price as DM's and even better after ~$15 cashback

  • Hmm, BWS is showing 20% cashback when searching on Shopback, but clicking into it reverts back to 4%.
EDIT: Guess I jumped the gun, fixed now :P

  • I dont even get BWS on shopback now? Shopback buddy picks up nothing :(

    • See my comment below

  • Browser extension doesn't pick anything up on BWS site. Hope the cashback will still work

Edit: From the shopback BWS page: "Extension tracking does not work for BWS, please clickthrough from ShopBack to ensure that your cashback is tracked."

  • Just ordered this https://bws.com.au/product/9061/dewar-s-white-label-scotch-w… for $37 + 20% cashback. Good deal.

  • Makers 46 still being sold for 60. At 48 AUD after cashback, a good discount. Can use discounted GC as well

    • +1

Yep, also a few Amex offers out there to stack with cashback.
I had the spend $100 get $20 back, plus free delivery over $100, I had other items to get, so win..win..win..

  • Matso's ginger beer is 2 X 6pack on special for $38, then with 20% cashback off comes down to bit less than $16ea which is a really good price, it's usually around $28 for a 6 pack
    https://bws.com.au/product/708301/matsos-ginger-beer-bottles…

  • The BWS Checkout just spins ans spins. I called them and mentioned it needed to go through on the website because shopback had a deal on and they hung up on me.

  • And the next BWS person just tells me there's nothing in my cart even though the one who hung up told me the toal of my cart….. methinks they took the site down.

    • My order went through and is ready for pick-up. Maybe clear your cookies and try again. About to process my Woolies order now! Cheers OP!

  • The 2x superdry cartons for $86 seems a good deal. Then 20% shopback so is $34.40 per carton here is SA :-)

  • BWS delivered about $150 worth via Sherpa to my place, but messed up the order so I gotta go to pickup some stuff tomorrow. Might get some bonus alcohol as a gift, lol

  • Great deal OP. $29 cashback tracked on $145 purchase, very happy. As my grog of choice is quite expensive I always pick it up via these type of cashback promo's.

  • ..

  • anyone have a screenshot/copy of the woolies notes/terms/deal? can't remember if woolies orders had a $ cap?
