      $9.90 in WA.

Not that enjoyable. Tastes bland, and have a bad after taste.

    • +20

Don't remember the taste, but for me 375ml 6 pack for under $10 makes it enjoyable.

    • +4

      Needs more goat.

        Goat with more cow bell?

    • +8

Disagree. Fussy millennial staff at work who can never agree on a beer and this i has become everyone’s go-to. Crowd pleaser.

      • +12

Agree, it's my go-to beer lately. Not watery trash but also not an over hopped hipster failed experiment either. Easy drinking with a satisfying flavour.

        • +9

I love this beer. It has been $10 for weeks at BWS by using the voucher printed on the bottom of the Woolworths receipt, so I've been buying plenty of it. I think it's full of flavour and at $10 a 6 pack for 375ml cans makes it excellent value.

        • Is it possible to overhop an ale?

          • @Fobsessive: Are you asking because you think this is too hoppy?

            • @djrxr6: Just in general

              • +2

@Fobsessive: I suppose it's subjective whether something is over-hopped, but there have been some interesting conversations in craft beer land on this subject lately. A couple of breweries are really pushing the boundaries of how much hops you can get in a beer. For example, Deeds Brewing did a collab with Tallboy & Moose to produce a Hazy IPA with 40g/l of dry hop. Their own website describes this as excessive. There have been a few others since too.

For context though, this lager from Mountain Goat is a very VERY far cry from beers like these.

                • @djrxr6: How much hop is in basic lagers?
I tasted an 18% Hope F IIIIIIPA, was fun

                  • +1

@Fobsessive: While I can't tell you how much hops, because I don't know, I do know that in regular, widely available lagers, like VB, Draught, etc, hops are used as a bittering agent. They're not really added for flavour.

That's not true of all lagers though. Like the Very Good Beer, lots of craft breweries (not going to get into a discussion about whether or not Mountain Goat is craft) do add hops to lager for flavour. Another really good example is Blackman's Brewery in Torquay. They have quite a few great hoppy lagers.

                    • @djrxr6: Thanks for explaining why mainstream lagers have no fruity hop flavour.

It is cool how hopped craft lagers drink like ales sometimes.

      • I really like this beer. Terrific flavour and very refreshing on a hot day.

You have goat to be kidding me…

      • Goat the hell outta here!

    • +2

Don't understand the downvotes but I agree with you, I didn't enjoy it at all

    • I decided to give it a try after so many up vote here. So, I wouldn't call it bland but the taste is a bit too fruity for a beer in my opinion.

    • +1

It's great when cheap, I wouldn't pay full price. At least you're getting full sized cans not ripped off with the small bottles like almost all the other beers, I think it tastes pretty decent.

    Nice Garyyyy

    • +1

      • +4

You working most of December then?

    • Goat some yesterday. It only let me get 3 6 packs at that price and the 4th was slightly more expensive

    • +1

      3 offer redemptions, per day

One easy trick you can do is order it click and collect, go the next day to collect and then while you are in the store pick up another three from in store.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed 2 packs!

  • Picked a six pack up for $12 at BWS this week, absolutely not a bad beer at all. Would recommend!

  • Will pick up 2 slabs thanks

Wouldn't buy it even for a $1. Bland mid-strength Lager. I'd rather pay $10 for a can of an IPA.

    • +4

Umm yeah, if you are an IPA drinker, you should drink IPA.

    • +1

What a fancy boy you are!

  • Is it just for goats or human consumable?

  • +1

You can these at $10 at bws via woollies receipt to

    • for every QLDer, QLDer,s woolies receipts get $12 for a pack of 6

      • Yes or 47$ for a slab (save a dollar). DMs 3x six packs may do to start with too stock up.. or could just pay the extra 3 bucks and get a slab at BWS

  • +2

Is this suitable for domestic goats? Or is it brewed for mountain goats only?

    • It's ok for domestic goats but only in small doses

  • +3

I'm not a lager drinker usually, but this one was actually very enjoyable. More flavour than your typical lager but less going on than most ales these days.

  • Cheers, will make a good gift @ work.

  • This is such a goat deal! BaAaa.

  • +1

Duff beer is brewed from hops, barley, and sparkling clear mountain… what?

  • Don't mind the old goat

  • +2

Good beer that occasionally drops to this price. A steal at ~$10 a sixer. Hoppy holidays

  • +1

my local pub does these for $6 a pint

    • my local dan murphy does them for $1.82 a can

  • Just joined Dan Murphy, limit of three redemptions (six packs) per day.

  • Think i might have a perk with the DM limits. I ordered a click collect in the wee hrs last nite (only 2x 6pk available), got the msg for pickup this morning, so i thought i'd order another 3x 6pk & it went thru fine.. Unsure if it's cos my previous order is marked as 'ready for pickup' or simply doing 2 different transactions…

    • The limit is 3 redemptions for each offer per day. I think the counter for the day (24 hours), must of reset sometime between your first and second orders.

  • I enjoyed it alot on a blistering hot bushfires day. Not as complex as an ale but very refreshing!
