Free $20 Voucher with 30 Day eBay Plus Trial

1980

I was buying rechargeable batteries on eBay and was not an eBay plus member.

When I was about to check out the $22 purchase at the checkout page, there was a clickable link from eBay: get $20 off your purchase by joining eBay plus.

I clicked the link and joined the 30 day free trial eBay plus by providing my PayPal details for a voucher code I can enter to discount my purchase so I only have to pay $22 - $20 = $2.

After the purchase, I cancelled my eBay plus membership immediately so I won't be charged with the $49 annual fee payable at the end of 30 day trial period should I choose to continue.

Maybe wait a week? Could be time based too

          • @King Tightarse: i made that account about a year ago, haven't make any purchase untill this week.

            • @samelight: Oh OK, well its not time based then. eBay have so many parameters that they look at and compare. Its hard to know which are coming into play here

        • Same, can't get it to work anymore

        • not targeted or not eligible?
I know how to get targeted I don't know how many purchases required to be eligible.

    • wondering the same. I guess 1 item was probably a poor decision on their part.

  • Same here with new account and 2 purchase feedbacks.
Just curious if anyone still be able to get the offer to work with an old account with lots history/feedbacks?

  • +2

OK just successfully signed up and used my wife's account (9 feedback) with no problem at all.
She's had it for years but rarely ever buys anything, so I guess the feedback required is somewhere between 2 and 9.

Thanks so much for confirming this! Might try 5 items and report back

      • Hi, any luck from your side? It used to work for me (did it last month) when I get only 1 buyer feedback with a new account. But now it is saying I am ineligible.

        • +1

Not yet, struggling to buy 5 items. It's hard to spend real money :(

@DerpFactory: Its 3, buy 3 items from china for $1 and wait for their feedback

            • @Dexdexter: Does it have to be from China, or can I buy any 3 items for $1?

              • @Dudeplustaco: Any seller that gives you feedback, it’s just the cheapest is just to buy from china

                • @Dexdexter: I just bought 3 items, and have got a seller feedback from all three. Still no luck

                  • +1

@Dudeplustaco: Did you add ebay plus item to the cart? Refreshing 2-3 times sometimes works, or try adding a few ebay plus items to your cart and checkout individually (pay for this item only), refresh some more and see if it appears. are you not seeing the banner, lack of eligibility?

                    • @Dexdexter: Hi, yes I did add an eBay Plus item, but when I click on the banner, it says that I am ineligible. Refreshed many times, removed and re-added the item back into the cart. Still says I am ineligible unfortunately.

@Dudeplustaco: Perhaps there are other factors, a time registered requirement, for example.
                        Is this a new account?

                        • +1

@King Tightarse: You may be right, it is a new account. It used to work with new accounts but I guess not anymore.

  • my partner has had her ebay account for a while that she used for selling items. albeit no one gives feedback these days.
i purchased 1 item and got some buyer feedback and its still not eligible.
is there a confirmed amount of feedback required?
sounds like between 3 and 9.
not worth buying crap that probably ends up being $20 to save $20

This offer is a bit dodgy and under certain circumstances is a bait & switch offer.

I had an item in checkout that I already applied the 20% off PMID20 code to and had this banner ad popup explicitly stating I
would SAVE $20 off this eBay Plus order if I joined.
Nowhere in the banner ad or when you sign up do any T&C's for the offer appear or that they will send you a voucher code after the fact that cannot be used
    with any other offers.
I joined fully expecting the $20 discount to be applied to my purchase as it stated only to receive the code that I can't use.
Dodgy AF, no use shopping on eBay unless you can use 10-20% discount codes anyway. So the $20 voucher code pretty useless. Only good for a junk purchase.

  • Got the $20, and bought a Spigen phone case with it. Cancelled the membership after that. Good bargain!

  • Voucher shows up on my 2nd account with 2 buyer feedback which has used a trial before. However it comes up with a prompt that I don't have enough purchase history. This offer seems very random don't really think its worth the effot to be honest. I'll be just purchasing as normal not worth the frustration.

    • I had an account that had used a trial before that I didn't know about. showed up but once I had the feedback it said i wasn't eligible for the offer.

Several attempts, for now at least I can confirm:
3 purchases, 3 reviews, and 2 of 3 items were ebayplus, total $21 will be eligible, on a newly created account.
In summary, 3 purchases + 3 reviews are a must, maybe someone can try combinations of 0-1 ebayplus items, and total >$5, >$10, >$15?

    • So you need to spend a minimum of $21 before you can get the $20 voucher (plus receive three positive feedbacks)?
OK there goes my idea of three $1 items lol

      • Haven’t got chance to test under $21 total, just my purchases end up $21 and it works, possibly also works for under $20?

        • I will try in the next week or so

  • does this still work? i haven't seen it for a while

    • I had the offer sent to my inbox on the 23rd of April.

  • I've done this twice in the past week. I recommend not cancelling immediately, as they seem to give you more coupons when your account is active. I got a $5-off personalised discount code after about four days of being a member.

The first Plus trial I cancelled the same day (once my coupon had been used and the item sent). The next day, I signed up with my other account but have left that one active (just because I wanted to wait til the item shipped, but this time it was the weekend and the seller was slow). But anyhow, that's how I discovered that there's benefits to keeping it active. I think I'm gonna leave mine active now right up to the end and then cancel.

  • Idk if its just me but I can't seem to get the offer anymore, I literally saw it yesterday midday and now I can't find it, maybe I'll try another account.

  • try this link…
    https://www.ebay.com.au/ebayplus/subscription/signup?promo=P…

It seems they have started targeting rather than giving them to anyone with 3 feedback of purchase history.
i didn't have enough purchase history on a feedback score of 2 and when I hit 3 I was ineligible for the offer.

    Try this link: https://tc.ebay.com.au/ebay-plus-20-voucher-freetrial

Worked for me. Voucher is valid for 30 days

    • Yeah, you still need some purchase history. Mind sharing what yours look like?

      • +1

I purchased 3 items in the last 6 months.

I saw the promotional banner but didn't click on the link. It never showed up again!

So I went searching on Google and found that link. Phew.
