Large Gyoza ?

Keen to see if anyone knows where to source large Gyoza ? The ones you get in the Japanese places that are packed full of filling. The supermarket ones are devoid of fillings… anyone point me in the right direction?

Edited to stop me looking stupid 😂

Make them yourself. Any flour tortilla recipe will do.

Also check out borek recipes. Theyre technically gyoza from different parts of the world.

I made this at lunch time, but forgot the baking powder and made no difference (baking powder would have made it bubble a bit more).
I used a food processor to mix the flour, salt and hot water. saves on kneading and time.
You can roll out the dough, put whatever filling in you like, bake it, deep fry it, or like i do, cook both sides on a pan for 1 minute each, put on some cheese, then some stir fry.

Develop a craft out of what you want to do.

If you are making your own then why not buy the premade pastry and then you only have to make the filling yourself.

        • Yes, and not sure what you can get, but there is the small circular gyoza skins, and also the square ones for spring rolls. I'm sure you can find a youtube video on how to fold them, or make a big gyoza out of the larger squares.

        • Will buy tomorrow for sure

    Where are you located?
I'm aware of a Japanese restaurant that sells frozen gyoza. There's also a Jmart in West Ryde which may sell them.

    • South of Sydney. West Ryde prob a bit too far but thanks !

  • Easy to make. As has been said, Woolies has the gyoza skin. The rest is easy. Make about 90 when I do it. Freeze the rest.
