  • Can this be unlocked cheaply?

    • Only if you know the networks unlock code.

    • I think it's a free unlock once you recharge a certain amount (I think it used to be $80, no idea what it would be now).

      Edit:

Have you recharged your service to a minimum / accumulated amount of $80.00?

Yes: There is no fee to network unlock your handset
No: How long has your service been active?
Less than 6 months: There is an $80 fee
More than 6 months: There is a $25 fee

    It's 2019. No one will use 4G in 2020.

Assuming you're serious, "No one" is over stating it. First of all it won't be everywhere for years. Secondly Mobile phone radiation has proven detrimental effects on living organisms, 5G is the worst. Many of the people that know that won't use 5G ever.

      I will be.

Also the health concerns that come with 5G. Have you ever wondered why those countries that really care about their people have bannded 5G rollout? Networks can't even get 4G right because they don't want want to spend too much on infrastructure. Otherwise 4G is more than enough for what we do.

        • more than enough is relative

Good luck on that affirmation hahahaha
5G is far to 100% released.
On top of that, 5G hides the its biggest problem, data consumption.

Anything with 5G is like a V8 carburetor engine. It is faster than anything but also it uses much more data than anything else.
During a test in Europa, I believe, the specialists had to stop it because they had no more data. Everything went to space during streaming tests.

4G took ages to take 3G place. It is not just switch a button on and off. Even worse here in Australia where the internet is like third world countries.

Try to use your mobile during a holiday with some events such as Australia Day. Everything gets so damn slow because the infrastructure does not support everyone connected. City are gets jammed, in Mascot 12km away you can see the cascade effect in the network.

I am happy with 4G 100mbit. Who wouldn't be, really?

          Those users without a brain.

Just like those guys who send a bomb email with success and think that they can hack a bank system hahaha

    • You realise 3G is still with us yeah? 4G, and for a time 3G, will coexist with 5G.
