Unfortunately, You have to register get the shipping cost!

    get real!

    • +2

yeah it really gets under my skin when companies try to over inflate savings, really breaks trust in a company.

    • save price is complete bs

    • -3

Not our RRP, check Samsung site please. Should I make up a cheaper one?

  • +6
    • +1

Agreed. I think the BX2440 is LED backlit. This model (B2440L) appears not to be.

      • +1

think thats enough to neg them on
        deceptive
        1. link
        2. LED backlit
        3 over inflated price savings.

        • Again, its Samsung's OWN listed RRP! Yes LED backlight.

  • +3

Yeah don't know about this one… their featured on a current affair, probably pay them to advertise. that can't be good.

  • Hi all, please check the Samsung site - THAT IS THE LISTED RRP! Yes it seems a lot I agree but please direct criticism to them not us. Cheers.

    Link: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/bu…

Unit is LED backlight by the way.

    • +1

But the link STILL says LCD… I'm confused…

      • Yes LCD with LED backlight. I can't clarify our site more right now I am mobile :)

        • Unfortunately - LED backlit is not in your product specs or on Samsung Website!

        • I did quite a bit of research on this model when I bought it earlier this year, no where did it say it was LED backlit, not even the Samsung website. You'd think that if it was LED backlit, or it has since been updated to LED, it would be a a pretty important selling point which they wouldn't want to leave out on their official product description.

  • I would advice you guys to do your research before you buy from this website..just go to whirlpool and do a search on them..lots of people had problems with their monitors and esold
direct them to the manufacturer it self for repairs

    • We've only had ONE faulty monitor I am aware of. "lots" isn't correct.

  • Does anyone know how much delivery is before I sign up to yet another 'deal' website….

    • +2

      $9.99 to VIC/Melbourne, when I checked!

  • +3

Can you guys suggest what RRP price I should list on this, evidently the Samsung one has upset a few people, and any actual buying customer of ours knows service is paramount for us. So to appease the RRP neggers we can make one up. What do you all suggest it to be? Cheers

Sold quite a number of these already from ozb click thru's + coupon but not one positive, instead there's negs for Samsungs listed RRP :(

    • +2

Agree on the Samsung RRP. Nothing wrong with quoting that, since many sites do. But please do provide evidence that this monitor is LED backlit - I could not find anything. This website seems to suggest it is TFT/LCD: http://www.ebuyer.com/205506-samsung-syncmaster-b2440-lcd-tf…
I'm not it's not intentional, but it comes across as misleading.
Are you sure you listed the model number correctly?

      • Oh good question… IS it the correct model?
And come on everyone, quit complaining about the RRP… many sites list this

      • Thanks, I'm a little restricted on what I can do at the moment being mobile, but searching 'b2440l LED' turns up tons of results. Its my understanding nearly all monitors are LED backlit now.

        • +1

          I did the google search;

          Result:
          1. justmonitors.com.au groups LCD LED together, isn't advertised as LED when you follow the link.
          2. staticice.com.au (not a store)
          3. MLN does list as LED but if you check the image source of the LED feature image, it comes from the official page for the BX2440.
          4. tanmex.com.au also lists LCD LED together, once again, not advertised as LED though
          5. shopbot.com.au (not a store)
          6. Penta is the only one that advertises LED but they have a pretty bad rep on whirlpool
And the rest of the links on the first page don't advertise LED either.

So if you have a closer look, the google search is not convincing at all. Certainly no mention of it being LED anywhere on the packaging when I bought it earlier this year.

      • +1

        Still checking… See here: http://www.google.com/search?q=b2440l+led

So many sites listing this as LED, the contrast ratio suggests LED backlight. Disappointing how due to other disreputable sellers here any information hard to confirm or even mistakenly copied is considered a deliberate act to mislead customers, we're just not that kind of company! Thanks to all for their input.

As an aside the new swype on my samsung galaxy 2 is driving me crazy heh heh.

        • +1

          The power consumption suggests otherwise.

The BX2440 (LED) and the B2440L (no mention of LED) are almost identical but check their power consumption, the BX2440 is rated at 25W and the B2440L is 45W. Power consumption is a key benefit of LEDs.

    • +1

If Samsung's OWN site lists the same RRP I can't say how your site should be taken as an untrusted site. Many stores and sites do this - eSold isn't the only one here. So take it easy guys, the listing IS the cheapest I've seen.. Price comparison websites' prices are at an average of $230 for this model.

    • just don't quote RRP full stop, its just fabricated Poo

  • +2

LCD is the screen CCLF or LED is the illumination technology so calling it LCD is correct personally although brighter I find LED backlighting to bleed too much and harder on the eyes anyway

You guys are being a bit hard, what's postage like?

  • +2

Looks like a good price to me…

  • +1

handelbert… The biggest question is.. WARRANTY… Other sites listing this product label the 36m warranty covered by Samsung. Can you clarify if this same warranty applies for purchases from your site?

    • Samsung has a three year policy on all monitors sold. I have personally sent in a one year old monitor without receipt being ever mentioned.

  • +1

Good question, we honour Samsung's warranty 100% :)

  • ONNECTOR : 15pin D-SUB, DVI-D

    needs HDMI :D

But a good LCD for the price u cant go wrong

  • This is a great deal. Would be tempted to buy 2 if I had a need for them (but there is a definite WANT).
Yes, the LED backlit description is misleading but the rep has stated the model number so jump on Static Ice and work out if it's a bargain or not.

IMO, if you have a problem with the RRP, take it up with Samsung.

  • SOLD OUT :(

    • Hi, just got home. Yes SOLD OUT, between the OZBargain and our own customers we sold over 100 units in the last 2 hours. Thanks a lot for the support for our great deal.

  • +9

Guys, give the rep a break on the RRP man. It is what it is.

HOWEVER, what we want to see is (and i bet the rep knows this) when the shop runs a promotion, it benchmarks its price with some really competitive store e.g. MSY. Don't try to benchmark the price to some place where sells an "RRP (expensive) price". It's a very lame trick really. You can almost consider it as an insult to most bargainer here, hence all these complaints.

A good deal should really be the deal that you can't easily find it cheaper elsewhere, not a "cheaper than RRP" deal (not saying this is not a good deal). ALDI doesn't compare their price with 7-11 and brags about customers being saving 50% when you shop with them.

  • +1

Feeling missed out? you can pickup one for $165 at UMart (if you live around a UMart shop).

NO - I am not a Umart rep!

  • Why couldn't you have this on Wednesday when i bought a different one! :(

  • +1

bagachin>>>Don't try to benchmark the price to some place where sells an "RRP (expensive) price"…..You can almost consider it as an insult to most bargainer here….<<<

    I couldn't agree more!
This should be quoted on the first line in the "Deal Posting Guideline"!
