  • Just curious , I can not use Gas BBQ in the back yard during fire ban , is this correct ?

    • +2

You can, as long as it's supervised and not within 2m of anything flammable (that's the rough rules from memory)

    • You can, when I said Outdoors, I meant like on a camping trip.

For those offering opinions, this is from NSW RFS

Can I use a gas barbeque?

You can use a gas barbeque under the following conditions:

        • It is under the direct control of a responsible adult, who is present at all times while it is operating;
        • No combustible material is allowed within two metres at any time it is operating;
        • You have an immediate and continuous supply of water; and
          • The barbeque is within 20 metres of a permanent private dwelling such as a home; or
          • The barbeque is within a designated picnic area and the appliance is approved by Council, National Parks or State Forest.

just an FYI for those interested, I looked up the NSW rules for total fire bans the other day and it is ok to use a gas BBQ if you follow certain rules https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans/t…

    • Thanks very much .

    Use code $10 off $40

    • what is the code? That would be useful..

      • Look at the post below…..

        • actually I think he's referring to another post where it's $10 off $40 in store only, or $20 off $60, so it won't apply to those who aren't near a store.

Post below is code for $10 off $50, which would help for this deal if adding a cheap $2 item.

          • @NoApostrophePlurals: Ah, I wasn't aware of that offer. The one I posted was the first one I found when I did a google search.

Thanks, been thinking about buying one of these, so at that price, I did!

Also with a spend of $50.00 or apply code WELCOME10 to get $10.00 off.

The code wont work unless you add something else as grill is 1 cent under the minimum.

I just added a Sea to Summit spork for $2.99 so total ended up $52.97 delivered.

Don’t use these Outdoors on a fire ban day… use responsibly….

Are you implying we should be using gas BBQs indoors? If you want to be responsible, please check your facts before giving advice. As others have mentioned gas BBQs are okay to use during a fire ban…as long as your sensible. Using a gas BBQ indoors without adequate ventilation is neither sensible or responsible.

    • +9

This unit is designed for camping or in a park at a picnic.

I never said to use this indoors. 🤦‍♂️

      • -4

I never said to use this indoors

You didn't but implied it by leaving it as the only other option.

"don't use these outdoors.." the only other option is indoors. A backyard is still outdoors

        • +6

Sigh…"don't use these outdoors on a fire ban day". The other option is "use these outdoors on a non-fire ban day". Pretty sure everyone else got that.

@loksmack: I don't agree but won't sit here arguing semantics.

I feel your frustration there champ, it's kinda like people giving advice on a subject they don't understand. Even if we were to go with your interpretation of what I consider a poorly worded statement, OP still maintains gas BBQs can't be used "while camping, at a picnic, on the road somewhere away from home" which is incorrect.

See above for NSW regs stating gas BBQ can be used during a total fire ban if is within a designated picnic area and the appliance is approved by Council, National Parks or State Forest and certain other conditions are met…fairly sensible.

OP is from Adelaide, SA regs allow for gas BBQs to be used while camping, at a picnic, on the road somewhere away from home on a coastal foreshore (with conditions).

I won't go through the rest of the country but I hope you're starting to get the idea.

Don't be silly with fire and if you don't understand the risks then err on the side of caution and don't take the risk.

Cheers will pick one up at this price $40 after voucher

  • Am I blind or is there no click and collect available??

    • No click and collect. Only delivery or check store stock online.

    • No there isn't that I could see.

You will have to go instore and buy or do what I did in my above post for what ends up being free delivery.

      • Yep did that - plus had a $20 voucher they gave me from a previous cancelled order. $30 delivered, not bad. Will be spewing if I'm not home and have to go pick it up somewhere now!

        • Yes, that's annoying. I always opt for "leave it in a safe place" if the option is available.

  • Needs a wind guard

  • Is membership free? If not, how much is it?

  • Anaconda…..no click 'n collect and unable to pay over the phone with a Credit Card.
    Welcome to the Stone Age.

    Yawn.

Anaconda rule 1: 'Discounted' prices only ever reflect the true value of the product.

I guarantee that nobody has ever paid $160 for this, and if you did you'd be disappointed.

    • I do agree. They had a portable coleman rrp for like $400, like anyone would buy that over a Weber Q. Still at the 'heavily reduced' price it wasn't too bad

  • Such a hot day today. I might grab one and have a bbq down at the national park, thanks op

  • Picked one up for $40 with the voucher. Deal seems to have expired now.

  • Not sure who expired this but this deal is still active.

  • Membership now no longer required to snag this deal.
