Sony XAV-AX3000 + Rear Cam $389 Delivered, Kenwood DMX8019S + Rear Cam $479 Delivered @ Bankstown Sound

70

I've been in the market for a good Carplay unit with decent audio and I found that Bankstown Audio has a Christmas Sale up for some great units with prices cheaper than I've seen on OzBargain. For those who enjoy configuration and want better sound the Kenwood is a fantastic headunit, otherwise the Sony XAV-AX3000 is a great Carplay unit that has been reviewed well on OzBargain previously.

  • Sony XAV-AX3000 ($389 Del.): "Website: This went absolutely mental last time around, so we’ve put it back up to see how we can go. The Sony XAV-AX3000 Apple CarPlay and Android Auto unit with a free reverse camera and free shipping for $389!" Great head unit for those wanting Carplay with some decent Audio under $400 - https://www.bankstownsound.com.au/product/sony-xav-ax3000-an…

Other deals that I can see:

There's also a number of other Car Audio deals on the website and the above units include free Reverse Cams. Keep in mind installation can be between $100-$200 depending on your existing head unit and car make. Having used Bankstown before I can vouch that they're a great store with fantastic support. Always had a great experience when emailing them and received honest advice.

  • Wireless Android auto, or cable only?

    • +4

Cable only on these units my dude. There's not too many units out there that do wireless - and in our opinion, the tech isn't there yet. Yeah, you don't need to plug your phone in… but you're losing too much sound quality, your battery is getting hammered… also, the units just aren't there yet. That's what 2020's for!

    • +2

Both units are cable only, the Kenwood DMX8019DABS is what you'll need to get Wireless Android Auto/Carplay.

        Plus a capacitive screen.

  • Hi mate

Do you provide fitting or installation services for this unit?

    Thanks

    • We do provide installation for anything and everything we sell. We're located - I bet you can guess - in Bankstown, NSW. Give the team a call (from Boxing Day) on 02 9708 5444 for quotes and booking!

  • Is this a worthy upgrade from the XAV-100?

    • Okay, so there are a few things here to unpack. The XAV-AX3000 is a great upgrade. The DMX8019s is out of this world better and the AVH-Z2250BT is just at an amazing price point! But yes, these are all great upgrades over the XAV-AX1000.

  • Interested in the Kenwood DMX8019S. From Melbourne. Will it go in a 2014 Mazda CX5? Would I need to purchase anything else for the install?

  • How easy are these to install?

    • It depends on what car it's going into. Have a look on https://aerpro.com/ for your car and see what aftermarket installation parts you'd need.

  • Hi guys,
Very very keen on both. Would they fit in a 2014 Ford Mondeo? What else would I need to install?

  • Hi I'm from Melbourne too and I'm looking to get the Kenwood DMX8019s for my 2006 Honda Integra (https://aerpro.com/vehicles/honda/honda-integra-2002-2006?sr…). I don't see the headunit harness listed on the aerpro site. Which other harness should i buy then?
