    Or, you know, can make a decision by themselves and not have to be told by someone in a article comment that probably is just commenting about something they themselves have no actual idea on, just saying the popular thing to say? - though of course, if you have purchased these, and the Sony, and can give your informed opinion based upon using them both, that would be great.

      Well I haven't tried a single pair of beats that haven't had anything besides average build quality (quite plastic-y and hollow) and have either been super muddied, flat, or unintelligently bass heavy. The same old comments on beats are the same old comments for a GOOD REASON. Sound and build quality wise, these are just some really middling products. They're not terrible, they're just terribly overpriced.
      
      To be fair to op, the price for the item does seem pretty good.
