Billing is via some site in Hong Kong with eye-watering card fees. Googling around I read that PayPal had the lowest card fee. They also add VAT (GST) depending on account location so expect 10% for Aus accounts, 0% maybe for US accounts and 20% plus for European ones. I also read that if you VPN to Europe it's EU24.49 + fees so that makes it cheaper too.

I would highly recommend you check out the wiki, tarkov battle buddy app, maps & some guides on YouTube to ease you in today this moderately complex game
The wiki is great for quests, the quest accept button is up the top

  • Wait isn’t there some server region lock down with your purchase?

    • +1

      Yes, the Europe edition is essentially region free
      The “other” region includes Australia & US

      Russian editions can only be played from a IP address from that country

      Any server can be joined irrespective of edition

        OK so it seems the region lock is to help them enforce price control rather then player/server isolation. The key being;

        Region lock does not mean you cannot play with other regions or in other servers. It only means that your game can only be physically launched/run in that region.

        If you travel a lot, EU version is the way to go.

        You can upgrade to the EU version at a later time to launch anywhere.

  • I'm glad they did another discount, I bought standard on Black Friday and just got the EOD version ($127 - crazy). Not a huge fan single player but love running round with my mates in it.

    • What was the percentage discount on black Friday and was it the most that they have discounted it so far?

      • 33% which I believe was the best with previous discounts being 30/25 or less.

          Nice though I am going to be honest for me personally I have lost the charm and sparkle of gaming and by extension this game escape from tarkov.. but I commend the devs for the mechanics they put in place it seems very forward thinking overall but honestly I will pass on this game until it becomes either free to play or below $5 AUD however long that takes as the phase and fad craze is gone for me.

          But nice to know they have started doing discounts at least.
