            Bloody sharp teeth!!!!

      Ok doomer.

  • +3

A bit off topic but why on earth do vegetarians have a need to eat "burgers", something traditionally associate to meat?
Why producing and selling vegan/meat-free "steaks".
    Why?

And why there isn't a meat based, vegetable free, "Lettuce and Tomato salad"?

    Something doesn't sound right …

    • +4

Just be wary of a vegan friend getting you a "burger". You'll be going "oh yum yum…now that's a tasty burger" pulp fiction style and then your Vego friend will jump up and go "AHA! it aint real meat" and then you'll waste his ass pulp fiction style…

    • You will find that veg option is for those meat eaters who want a break or meat crowd with the odd veg tag along.

Most veg only eaters don't really go to meat places for ethical reasons or fear of cross contamination.

      • +1

        who want a break

Who'd want a break from meat? If people eat meat, is that simply all they eat? They never eat fruits, grains, or veges… They simply must eat a vegan burger.

        • Okay even someone who can only afford a Camry for life aspires to drive a BMW at least once.

Everyone wants to take a break from life.

          • +1

@netjock: Yeah but taking a break from eating meat to eat vegetarian is like trading in your Mazda 3 for a Corolla.

            • +2

@smartazz104: For some people it is like detox. But each to their own.

In developed countries you don't see people hospitalised for malnutrition, mostly heart disease.

Nothing here saying eat more meat to prevent heart disease

              • @netjock: given the massive fat and salt in these I would think they are far worse than meat for your heart and certainly would if anything be increasing your toxins not detox.

                • -2

@gromit: Well is it on list of carcinogens like meat?

                  [Australian Cancer council website] (https://www.cancercouncil.com.au/21639/cancer-prevention/die…)

I can also find you a free Specsavers voucher to get your eyes tested considering the massive oversight!

The only problem I have with people in life is Google exists and all the facts now available, people choose to depends on where ever they source their lies!

                  • @netjock: given it is new no it isn't. I guess anything new is perfectly safe as it won't be on that list and the fact it is loaded with unhealthy ingredients is just irrelevant.

              • @netjock: Why would you eat a vegan burger as a "detox"??? That's illogical.

      • -1

        Haha "want a break"

    • +1

Because "burgers" and burgers both taste good? Not everyone who doesn't eat meat avoids it because they can't stand the taste.

I've eaten meat my whole life and love the taste. In the last few years I've started to eat less because I feel a bit guilty for eating animals and because of the environmental impact. I still love the taste, and the more realistic meat imitators that come to market the better. Close to the same flavour but without the guilt, why wouldn't you eat them?

I struggle to understand why people care so much what others eat. If you want to eat meat, good for you. If you don't, good for you. If you don't want to eat fake meat, don't and if you do, do. Seems like a relatively simple proposition, yet threads like these still inevitability deteriorate into attacks by either "side".

      • It starts with someone asking a question that a meat eater replies to with a joke. The joke triggers a vegan to attack and all hell breaks loose.

      • I have a similar view about some religions dictating what people eat.

It seems to me that a God that created the universe of at least 10 billion galaxies or 10 billion stars each wouldn’t really care what humans choose to put in their digestive tracts.

    • Aa a consumer, being a vegetarian cam be boring so you take what you can get in variety.

As a food goods producer meat patties are familiar so you dont have to work so hard on educating customers, hence the existence of Beyond Meats and the like.

    • There are infinitely more dishes where the reverse is true.

Why do we feel the need to add meat to traditionally plant-based dishes?

  • A whole bunch of I-aint-eating-that-sh1t!

You know that meat burger contains just as much as crap you don't want to eat.

        At least it tastes good.

@7ekn00: You imply that 2/3 of the population that is obese is vegetarian or vegan? There is less fat vegetarian / vegans than omnivores.

You are just desperate for a fact to win.

            • -1

@netjock: You are beautiful and that's a fact.

            • @netjock: LOL, just learn to read and research a little instead of making up what you thought I said, then making a vegan argument against your own assumption (I never said anything about obesity, I was referring directly to gynecomastia from soy products)! For the lazy: fake meat has 18,000,000 (that's 18 million) times more estrogen promoting factors than real beef ;)

              • @7ekn00: The source doctor of the article you linked is actually a veterinarian.

              • @7ekn00: If you want to compare worst case outcomes surely you would rather have man boobs than bowel cancer?

  • Sprayed veggies

  • Guaranteed that whatever else it might contain it will have very high dose of vegan sodium chloride

  • +1

If carnivores love the smell of meat cooking on a BBQ do vegans get a hardon when they mow the back yard ?

    • Incorrect comparison. It would be like asking if us meat eaters get a hard on when an animal is slaughtered. Poor attempt at vegan bashing.

  • Dead plants…

  • soy, salts and flavours

  • +1

They're not all the same. If you want to know what is in something you need to look at the ingredients of a product.

For instance you could make one yourself. It doesn't mean it's going to contain the same ingredients as a Beyond Meat patty or Notburger patty, or Lord of the Fries patty, etc.

  • Estrogen apparently 😹

  • +1

Loads of additives and highly processed ingredients.

  • we eat processed food which don't compare with simple direct plant based alternatives for taste only. if we change our habits and learnt to cook a few simple dishes instead, we might discover new tastes.
same with marinated chicken which I found my air fryer does nicely - saves money and tastes better than some takeaways I have known.

  • vegetable protein, such as from pea protein isolate, wheat protein, and soy protein.

  • I wonder if dinosaurs ever called out the other on their dietary preferences.

Imagine how well they would have got along.

Too bad they are all extinct and it really didn't matter.

Keep up the Vegan vs Omnivores vs Vegetarian fight brothers you are doing God's work (slow clap)…

Estrogen. Heaps and heaps of estrogen.

Why didn’t you just go to the HJ website instead of creating this ridiculous thread?

    • Because I’m not talking just about HJ I’m talking about in general.

  • vegan burger panties

  • Thanks everyone for your responses, I think I have enough answers,

    Thanks Again.

    • Just curious, what was your goal from this thread?

Are you considering eating more or less vegan burgers?

What were some of the key things you feel you learned from the feedback here?

Genuinely curious as I'm researching the trend.

      • I was just curious as to the ingredients.

        • Dude look at what you have unleashed XD

  • The cows where my beef comes from are vegetarian. Does that count as being woke?

  • OP has requested the thread to be closed, as the discussion has gone off-topic.
